In the heavily saturated market that is subscription boxes, it’s virtually impossible to find anything new or original, so kudos to Ivory Gloss who have managed to release a product that’s very much piqued my interest. Ivory Gloss subscription boxes are basically an alternative beauty/lifestyle box that focuses heavily on astrology and self-care; at the very least you’ll find them fun and a little bit different, containing goodies that’ll perk up your weekend pampering sessions. I was sent the July box and by the time it arrived it had already sold out (August has sold out too – if you fancy grabbing a box, you’ll need to move quickly!) so here’s a little look at the July contents to give you an idea of what to expect:
The July Ivory Gloss box contained six products plus an astrology guide relevant to July. The goodies were a really interesting mix, with a little bit of everything; some beauty, some food and some general mood-boosters.
The two food items were Hampstead Organic Green Tea and Raspberry (20 sachets) and a packet of Love Raw 2 Chocolate Butter Cups. I really like the Hampstead Organic tea range and it’s great that you get a full-sized box as part of the contents. I haven’t tried the chocolate yet as I’m saving them as a treat for my little man!
Speaking of my little man, you have never seen anyone quite as excited as he was to see the amethyst in the box; he is absolutely obsessed with gem stones (he asks everyone what their favourite gem stone is) and his favourite is amethyst (his favourite colour is also purple, he’s very cool) so he’s been carrying this (rather heavy) stone around to show anyone who shows even the slightest bit of interest. If you don’t have a gem obsessed child (niche) then this is just one of those lovely, pretty things to enjoy.
The final three products are probably my favourite of the box, and these are the Salt + Steam Rose Salt Facial Steam, the Wildlight Rhubarb and Strawberry Candle and the Rose Quartz Gua Sha. The facial steam is basically like bath salts that you add to a bowl and steam with (presumably beneficial to both skin and wellbeing) and the Gua Sha is just an obviously well-made device – do you remember a few months ago when Glossybox included a plastic Gua Sha in one of their boxes? This is how you do it, Glossybox! Finally, the Wildlight candle is just a gorgeous, warm, fruity scent that smells exactly as you’d imagine – sweet and yummy!
The Ivory Gloss Subscription Box is available in two levels, the original at £28.50 a month (plus £3.49 UK delivery) and the new lighter version which is £14.50 a month with the same delivery fees. Find out more about box options here – link.
