I knew I was going to live the latest addition to the Lancome Idole fragrance family, Lancome Idole Aura, as not only have I loved every single perfume in the collection so far, Aura was marketed as a simple take on a summery scent with leading notes of rose, jasmine and vanilla – I love all three of those notes (I just find them so gentle and pretty) so I had to get my hands on a bottle!
Lancome Idole Aura is a fragrance that “celebrates the glowyness of white flowers melting with crispy sea salts” – how amazing is that description? I’d say it’s pretty accurate too as this is a very feminine fragrance that really does enjoy a touch of crisp salt that keeps the scent on the right side of sweet. Salt and rose sit at the top, jasmine is the heart and vanilla and musk are at the base.
On the first spritz you get the rose and vanilla straight away, but the salt kicks in pretty which gives the overall fragrance a vibe of sea air and holidays; obviously it’s October as I write this and this is definitely a fragrance aimed at the lighter, brighter months, but I can happily fantasise about my next holiday and wearing this the whole way through!
I also couldn’t write this review without mentioning the beautiful bottle, which maintains the theme of the Idole collection really well, but this one has a wider base so you can stand it up, which makes such a huge difference as you don’t have to store it either flat or back in the box which you do with the earlier Idole fragrance releases.
Lancome Idole Aura is a beautiful, grown-up girly scent that is definitely warmer and summery than it is right now, but I’m happy to throw out the rule book and wear it in the Winter, letting the salty jasmine take me away to a time when we can holiday again. Lancome Idole Aura is available in three sizes: 25ml for £50, the pictured 50ml for £78 and 100ml for £99.50. Find them all here – link.
