The Liberty The Beauty Drop launched recently and I decided to treat myself to a subscription as it’s quite an interesting idea that’s a bit different to your usual beauty box subscription service.
The Beauty Drop from Liberty involves paying a £20 monthly fee, for which you get 4 beauty boxes a year that’ll each include a selection of beauty samples from their range of brands. It sounds rubbish, until you take into account the fact that your £20 monthly fee is completely redeemable against any purchases from the moment you subscribe; so for example, from month 1 you’ll have £20 to spend at Liberty, but if you decide to save, then 6 months along you’ll have £120 to spend, plus, by this point you’ll have also received a couple of beauty boxes that’ll inevitably give you some inspiration as to what you might fancy treating yourself to. You can leave your balance to build as long as you like, but also you can cash it in whenever you’re ready, even after the first month. You can spend your balance online, but I’m not sure if you can use it in-store.
Here are the products I received in my first box:
Barbara Sturm Anti-Ageing Body Cream (50ml)
Sisley L’Integral Eye an Lip Contour Cream (sachet)
OUAI Detox Shampoo (10ml)
Susanne Kaufmann Regeneration Cream (3ml)
Malin + Goetz Bergamot Deodorant (deluxe mini)
111Skin Vitamin C Cleanser (30ml)
MZ Skin Anti-Pollution Face Mask (1 sheet)
Frank Body In Your Dreams Soak & Scrub (120g)
Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial (5ml)
The reason I decided to subscribe was because I really like a lot of the brands that Liberty stocks and I hoped for an opportunity to try some of the products without a hefty investment. I feel that in this respect, the box didn’t disappoint, but it’s also not the most exciting box of goodies either. Having said that, this is basically a free box of goodies every few months featuring brands I’m almost certainly wanting to try, so for that I think it’s a pretty decent service.
All spaces on the subscription service are currently full, but I believe they’ll be adding more soon, so if you fancy joining-up you can register your interest here – link.
I might have to check this out!
