Hello 2023! Happy New Year, lovely people, I hope you had a fabulous holiday/break and are feeling refreshed and ready for whatever new horror show 2023 has in-store for us…I took a nice long break and now I’m spending the next few weeks sharing some fabulous skincare content with you, on both here and my IG feed (there’s also a giveaway live there at the mo, the first of three, so do have a look if you fancy winning some beauty goodies!) and I’m kicking off my blog content with an introduction a new range of skincare called Face Junkie.
I think it’s safe to assume that skincare has come a very long way, particularly in the last few years, which is great for those of us who are obsessed with formulas, science and all the geekiness in between, but many people just want a good, solid routine, with little fuss, that’ll work and doesn’t need a science degree to understand. Enter Face Junkies, who are here to make everything nice and simple again; think a basic routine that covers morning and night care, with some pampering extras to up the indulgence element.
The Face Junkie routine consists of 6 products:
No.1 Brightening Cleanser
No.2 Vitamin C + Neroli Antioxidant Serum
No.3 Neroli Day Cream and Sunscreen
No.4 Green Tea Antioxidant Cleansing Oil
No.5. Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum
No.6 Pro Collagen Night Cream
There are also add-ons, such as a Cryo Sculpt Facial Roller (absolutely frickin’ love this – the roller is very smooth and stays icy cold, so great for calming angry skin) and I was sent a couple of very pretty candles (I love a skincare line with matching candles!) but I can’t seem to find them on the site, so I don’t know if they are incoming or out of stock for now.
The No.3 product, the Neroli Day Cream + Sunscreen is a bit of a weird one as the SPF number isn’t especially obvious, and it’s only when you go on the site that you find it has an SPF20 which is quite low, but I guess it depends on what you like. I know most people prefer a minimum of SPF30 and I personally go for SPF50 whenever I can.
Other than the simplicity of this routine and the cute aesthetic, that I feel is a kind of cross between modern apothecary and small batch handmade, what’s great is how easy it is to mix it up and make the routine your own. You have your morning and evening cleansers that can be moved around according to your needs, so if you like a double cleanse then both products can work in the PM too. You have your essential HA serum – everyone needs one of these – and the antioxidants are covered too. This is a really smart take on modern skincare needs, removing the confusion whilst still ensuring all the essential are covered.
The range is affordable, with most products sitting around the £15 – £20 mark. You can buy the bundle of all six products for £94.50, or you can buy the AM or PM bundles too, with a little saving on each. Most importantly, they have a sample sachet set for £5, which gives you a chance to try all six products – I love it brands do that! Find everything here – link.
