I’m a huge believer in the effectiveness of taking the right kind of supplements and I take quite a few each day to help with my various skin concerns. I love the fact that there are now some great options available designed to specifically target breakouts as this is such an ongoing problem for so many people – me included – and so often it’s the case that we need to tackle issues on the inside so we look better on the outside. With that in mind, I’ve found four great examples of supplements that can help with acne, spanning various price points, so hopefully there’s an option for everyone. Hopefully it goes without saying, but please always check with your GP first if you are unsure of any of the ingredients in the formulas, particularly if you take any other medication.
Aegle’s Acne Clear Now (ACN) Illuminating Clear Skin Complex (currently out of stock until next month, prices starts at £33 for one month supply and you can find them here – link)
I’m including four products in this list, two of which I have tried and the other two I haven’t, the Aegle’s offering I haven’t tried, but I really liked the whole concept of the brand so I have high hopes for it being a good recommendation!
The ACN supplement is designed specifically for female adult acne, so it contains ingredients that target the main issues, although it’s an overall skin treat since it also promises to help with luminosity and pigmentation too.
Rejuvenated Skin Perfecting Complex (£24.95 for one month supply – or less if you decide to take the maximum dose of 4 a day – link)
Recognise the brand name but not the packaging? That’s because Rejuvenated have a had a makeover!
The Skin Perfecting Complex is a fantastic formula with some gorgeous ingredients that make me really want to try them; I’m actually thinking of rejigging me supplements so I can make room for them as they sound so good, and their price point is decent too! They also offer 20% off subscription which is a really decent discount.
Feel Skin Care (£21.36 for one month supply here – link)
Feel showed up on my feed around 13 months ago when I wanted to start overhauling my health (around January, that time of the year…) so I treated myself to a few bits from Feel and they are so good; brilliant formulations, deals on various multipacks (I think I started with Skin Care, Omega and their probiotics) and they also offer deals on subscription too.
The only thing I don’t like about them is that if you are subscribing and you want to cancel, you might struggle to do it without speaking to one of their CS reps on the phone. I realise this is all about customer retention but that always puts me off a business as I feel like I’m being trapped! I’m not completely off them though as I do think they offer great formulas at a really good price.
Advanced Nutrition Programme Skin Accumax (prices start at £48 for 60 here – link)
If you follow me on Instagram then you’ll probably already know that ANP is the brand I take a lot of supplements from. They started as PR samples, but I’ve been purchasing them for myself for a while now and they really are very good. Skin Accumax is known as one of the very best acne-busting supplements around, but they are, unfortunately, not accessible for all due to their price point.
They recommend you take 4 pills a day for the first couple of months – which is actually what I did, I’m now down to two a day – which works out at £83 a month for the first few months, and that’s assuming that you’re not taking anything else alongside it! I do think it’s worth it, particularly if you’re someone who spends a lot on skincare, but I totally get that it isn’t very affordable and is more of a luxury product.
There we have it! Four excellent supplement choices to help you battle breakouts.
