I’ve been writing this blog for almost 13 years, if you can believe that, (13 years!!) so whilst my love for beauty has persevered, I’ve definitely become a bit more cynical with both time and age, but one brand that’s always guaranteed to get my heart fluttering is SUQQU, as I just find them so exciting! I’ve been lucky to become reacquainted with the brand over the last six months or so, having tried some of their seasonal makeup collections, but this year they have a whole bunch of newness including both skincare and makeup, so rather than put a quick video together for the ‘gram, I decided it needed a dedicated blog post – so, share with me the joy of all the beautiful skincare newness!
Kicking off with the SUQQU Designing Massage Cream Yaezakikou Kit (£98 – in store only, find out more here – link) which celebrates 20 years of SUQQU with a skincare kit built around the iconic Designing Massage Cream, which is housed in a beautiful new and limited edition jar with a special fragrance to match. Have you tried the SUQQU Gankin Massage that this cream is designed for? If not, then it is a little piece of self-care heaven and well worth learning about!
The kit contains the aforementioned Designing Massage Cream (200g) with the matching spatula and sponge cloth, Clarifying Toner (30ml), Moisture Rich Mask (30g) and Vialume The Smoothing Cream (5g) making this a wonderful introduction to some of the SUQQU skincare products, plus, how lovely would this be for a Valentine’s/Galentine’s gift?
The SUQQU AQUFONS Kit (£90 here – link) was the set I jumped headfirst into as soon as I’d photographed it as my skin has been crying out for more gentle hydration, so the timing of this arrival was perfect! The AQUFONS products are designed to “dose skin with hydration and reveal a clear radiance” which is all I needed to hear to slather it on my face.
The kit contains AQUFONS Refining Serum (50ml), AQUFONS Hydrating Lotion Enriched (30ml) and AQUFONS Replenishing Fluid (15ml) and they are designed to work alongside each other by being layered in that order, so serum first, then toner, then hydrator. What I really like about this kit is that it can either be used as part of your daily skincare (either individually or collectively) but it can also work as a treatment that you give yourself a few times a week, so if you don’t want to replace your existing routine but you could do with a bit of a boost, this is the kit for you!
As a sunscreen obsessive, I couldn’t wait to try the new Protecting Day Cream SPF50+ (£48 launching today – will update with link when available) and it really is gorgeous! It feels very comfortable on the skin, providing an extra layer of hydration without any greasiness, plus it primes skin beautifully and most importantly, it doesn’t break down or pill at all.
The only downside of the Protecting Day Cream SPF50+ is that you only get 30g for £48, which works out quite expensive if you consider how much sunscreen you need to apply to ensure full protection, but if you have the money and you love a luxury product, this is absolutely gorgeous.
Finally, the colour products – and here’s where we take the swooning up a notch. I love, love, love SUQQU makeup as they are never afraid to play with colour, yet they somehow always manage to do it in an accessible way that allows me and my pushing 40 face to feel comfortable experimenting without feeling silly. I always lean towards neutral shades, but SUQQU products have allowed me to try a few different things and I love them for that!
The SUQQU Spring Colour Collection 2023 is big, with lots of new goodies to talk about, such as the Treatment Wrapping Lip, so I’m saving a full break down for another post, and I’ll be sharing some looks on my IG feed too. The collection is available now and you can find it at Selfridges here – link.
