Happy New Year! I thought I’d document my plans for the year so that I’m hopefully encouraged to stick to to them…
Focus on Good Health
This is the most important one for me, and the one I’ll be putting as much energy into as I can. I want to feel better; mentally, emotionally and physically, as since my dad died in 2022, I’ve been coasting along, eating rubbish, doing very little and just trying to feel okay, whereas I think I deserve to feel better than just “okay.” So, I’m starting slowly, but I want to eat better, cook more, exercise a little more and hopefully these baby steps will yield steady improvement.
Stop Spending
My spending for 2023 was absolutely insane! It was a type of therapy for me and I would regularly buy things to give myself something to look forward to. Often I wouldn’t even bother using the stuff that arrived, I would just buy something so that I could spend a day or two anticipating the arrival of the purchase. I’m so aware that it’s a trauma response and I will be heavily focusing on reducing such activity. So if all my favourite beauty brands could just not release anything for the entirety of 2024, that’d be fab – thanks.
Learn More Greek
I had a holiday in Greece last year and the day I got back, I started learning Greek and it’s actually going really well. This year, I would like to develop my conversational and written skills to hopefully progress my understanding of the language to the point where I can speak it a little. I’m using Duolingo and Rosetta Stone and I find them both handy, although neither will give you a full comprehension of the language, but they’re a good place to start if you want to learn a language. Duolingo is better and cheaper.
Just three! That’s achievable, right? Let me know if you have any NY resolutions planned, and I hope you’re having a fabulous start to 2024! xx
