It’s January still (and it will be for at least another 92 days at this rate…) so I think I’m okay to talk about my 2023 beauty favourites. I’m about 96% sure I came across them all in the 12 months of 2023, but my grasp of time is generally crap, so apologies if they were 2022 finds instead. These are all products I’ve found and absolutely loved and will continue to love, so it’s time to share the love! I haven’t included any of my beloved beauty tech, as I felt that deserved its very own special post. Here are my 2023 beauty favourites
Hair, Body and Fragrance
Most of my money goes on skincare and makeup; with hair and body care, I usually find a favourite and stick with it. I’ve been expanding my fragrance collection throughout 2022, and I was lucky enough to receive some Kayali scents – believe all the hype as those fragrances are amazing!
1. Kayali Eden Sparking Lychee EDP* – a little bottle of happiness that’ll drag you out of this gloomy winter we’re having, I’ll share my full review soon but you can find it here starting at £25 for 10ml – link.
2. Wild Deodorant* – I love my Wild Deodorant so much! I have started going to the gym recently and I get very sweaty, but not at all smelly, thanks to this. They have so many different fragrances and styles, find them here – link.
3. Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Gradual Self-tan Body Mousse* – ignoring the annoyingly long name, this is (by far) the best tanning product in my life, providing a natural tan (even the darker shade on my pale skin) that is so easy to apply and impossible to muck up. It’s £11.50 here – link.
4. IGK Body Language – this is a brilliant volumising mist that I got in the Space NK sale but it doesn’t seem to be available at the mo…I hope that changes as this is one of the few volume-boosting product I’ve found that also contains heat protection, so I will need to restock!
Skincare
If you follow me on Instagram then it’ll be no surprise that my skincare is heavily dominated by K-Beauty brands, particularly Mary and May and the *amazing* CNP Laboratory, who are clearly skincare wizards. I have a long post about them coming up, as I am in love!
5. Kate Somerville Delikate Soothing Cleanser* – the loveliest, most gentle cleanser I’ve ever used that is amazing if you’re sensitive or overdoing the acids. It’s £38 here – link.
6. Tatcha The Rice Polish: Gentle* – the only manual exfoliator I’ll use regularly as it’s so gentle yet so effective. Plus it’s purple…Find it here for £64 – link.
7. Jumiso Snail Mucin 95 + Peptide Essence* – this was such a find! I use this religiously (twice a day, every day) as it hydrates, soothes, calms and adds glow, playing beautifully with all other skincare. It’s $25 here – link.
8. CNP Laboratory Propolis Active Energy Ampule* – I cannot get enough of this brand at the mo, particularly this incredibly lightweight serum which has made such a difference to my skin texture! Much like the aforementioned Jumiso essence, this gets used twice a day every single day. It’s $35.50 here – link.
9. SUQQU Smooth Clear Cleansing Oil – I treated myself to this during a Cult Beauty sale and it’s every bit as lovely as it sounds. Lightly hydrating and great around the eyes too. It’s £36 here – link.
10. Mary & May Sensitive Soothing Gel – I’m just about to start my third pot of this; originally a PR sample, it quickly became a nightly staple due to the fact that it hydrates whilst gently fighting spots too. It’s currently $13 here – link.
11. CNP Propolis Essential Eye Cream* – this has the texture of a cleansing balm, so I expected it too be too rich, but it’s just right; it hydrates, brightens, softens and really does improve the whole area, plus it sits really well under makeup – it’s a massive tube too! It’s $36 here – link.
Makeup (Base Products)
It was really easy to pick my favourite base products for 2023 as these were all the ones I reached for regularly. I tried lots of different foundations last year, but these three were hard to beat.
12. NARS Light Reflecting Eye Brightener – this was such a find last year as it’s so good at cancelling out the blue tones under my eyes, meaning I only need a touch of concealer to no longer look knackered. It’s £26 here – link.
13. Iconic London Super Smoother Blurring Skin Tint – I kept seeing people rave about this on TikTok and they were absolutely right; this provides a surprising amount of coverage for a skin tint, plus it really does blur! It makes my skin look so much better than it is. It’s £27 here – link.
14. Dr Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Camo Drops – the easiest “no makeup makeup” foundation for those of us who need help covering redness and blemishes. It’s £35 here – link.
15. DCYPHER My Custom Foundation* – this is just one of those “wow” staples that gives you everything you need from a foundation; you pick the coverage, finish and then they put together the perfect match. They now do concealers too! Find them here – link.
16. Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Concealer – this is creamy yet high coverage, and works both under the eyes and on spots, so great if you’re lazy like me. It’s £32 here – link.
17. HF Cosmetics HF17 Brush – love this brush brand so much; affordable and extremely good quality. The HF17 is designed for applying cream products, but I use it to press in concealer and it works so well, blurring it into the skin without removing it. They do some amazing brush sets too! It’s £8.88 here – link.
Makeup – Everything Else
18. GXVE Can’t Stop Staring Lengthening and Lifting Mascara – this is the most random find of 2023 as I literally don’t think it can be beaten: it gives amazing length and volume, holds a curl well, stays put all day and is easy to take-off. Total wizardry! It’s £21 here – link.
19. Urban Decay Hydromaniac Blush Glow Hydrators* – another product that gets everything just right; a good hit of buildable colour in a dreamy formula. The shade Drippin’ gives that perfect wintery glow. They’re £25 here – link.
20. SUQQU Dewy Liquid Blush in shade 101* – this is the prettiest, girly pink blusher I think I’ve ever used! For my pale skin, this is a superstar find, plus the dewy finish is a dream too. This was limited edition as part of the Holiday 2023 kit, I really hope they add them to the main line-up.
21. Beauty Pie Awesome Bronze Bronzing Cream* – I’ve just checked and I don’t think they make this anymore, which is gutting as it’s the most fantastic formula that blends into skin so naturally, plus the colour is that perfect mid-tone that really does give a sunkissed glow. GUTTED.
22. Beauty Pie Lash Fuel XL Super Advanced Peptide Serum – this hasn’t launched yet, but I got it in a preview bag that I’ve linked to. I can’t use most lash serums as they make my eyes really red and sore, but this one is wonderfully gentle yet the results are insane! My lashes are so much longer, but more importantly, I have actual, visible lashes on my lower lash line for the first time in my entire life, so I will definitely be stocking up on this when it launches. Find the preview bag (containing a mix of soon-to-launch products) for £49 here – link.
23. Dasique Water Blur Tint* – I am not a lip tint fan usually as the shades are often deep and dark, but the beautiful pinks and berry tones in this collection are so pretty! I absolutely love shades 06 and 07 especially. They’re £20 each here – link.
Thank you for reading and Happy 2024!
