What an absolute pleasure it was getting to know some of the Kayali fragrances last year – such an amazing and exciting brand that really has taught me so much about how fragrance can work and how creative you can be with customising your own scent by trying different combinations to find a bespoke scent that you love; Kayali is such a dream for this as so many of the fragrances work with each other, so when you add a new one to your collection, you are adding so much possibility! I was fortunate enough to receive a selection of Kayali fragrances last year that I reviewed on here, so I’ve set up a dedicated blog category for all my Kayali words, which you can find here.
Kayali Eden Sparkling Lychee 39 is the most recent Kayali launch and it is a total and utter joy with so much life and punch and happiness in a single spritz. It’s so funny that my first proper exploration of Kayali fragrance was via the Oudgasm collection – an edit of Oud-led, deep, smoky sexiness – and Kayali Eden Sparkling Lychee 39 could not be further from that! It’s so light and bright and and sparkly, it really does lift the spirits and I can see it being a really popular choice for the sunnier months.
Kayali Eden Sparkling Lychee 39 opens with the sweetness of sparkling lychee and red apple, balanced with citric Italian lemon and tart blackcurrant. The heart notes are a little more floral, but still bright and luscious thanks to the Rosa Damascena, Candied Violet and Jasmine Sambac. The base is full of creamy sugar, thanks to the sugared Amber and Vanilla Absolute and these are also balanced a little with sandalwood, cedarwood and musk.
As this is a mostly sweet and fruity scent, there are lots of pairing possibilities with Mona’s recommendations including Vanilla 28, Eden Juicy Apple 01 (review coming soon!) and Yum Pistachio Gelato 33. I also think it would work really well with any kind of light florals, particularly fragrances led with white flowers such as jasmine and magnolia.
As usual, you can get Kayali Eden Sparkling Lychee 39 in a variety of sizes (I really do love that about the brand as it makes the fragrances so much more accessible) starting at £28 for 10ml, going up to £98 for 100ml. Find out more and purchase the fragrance directly from the Huda Beauty online shop here – link – and you can also find it at Boots here – link – and Cult Beauty here – link.
