2024 is the year that I became obsessed with Kayali fragrances, with my perfume collection slowly becoming dominated by the many gorgeous scents in the range. As soon as I saw the Kayali Vacay in a Bottle Set, I knew I had to have it for my upcoming trip to Greece (three weeks and counting…) but I actually received a stunning PR package to celebrate their launch, so thank you very much Kayali for making my absolute month with this amazing delivery!
The Kayali Vacay in a Bottle Set consists of four fragrances, all themed around iconic holiday destinations, so expect evocative notes that’ll immediately take to your next holiday, or at least make you really, really want to book one. I mention in every Kayali post that I love how the fragrances are available in a great selection of sizes, making them so much more accessible, and this is perfectly demonstrated by the fact that you can get a discovery set of this collection for just £12, links at the bottom of the post. The collection launched as an exclusive set, but due to popularity they are now available individually, although still only in 10ml bottles, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we get some larger sizes soon!
I’ll start with Maldives in a Bottle Ylang Coco 20, which is a fresh yet gentle scent with key notes of rosemary, Ylang-Ylang and coconut milk. In the mix there’s also starfruit, sandalwood and banana blossom and the whole vibe is very beachy and makes me think of water sports, bright skies and deep-sea diving.
Marrakesh in a Bottle Orange Blossom 24 is a little more sultry and sexy (though not overly intense and still staying light and fresh) with notes of orange blossom, Turkish rose, cedarwood, amber and musk. This makes me think of balmy evenings out in the Middle East, visiting fabric markets and searching for elusive spices to take home.
Maui in a Bottle Sweet Banana 37 is the one I’ve seen get the most hype, which I totally get as it’s a beautiful scent that’s fruity, fun and a little bit different. There are so many lovely notes in this one, including jasmine, coconut cream, sweet banana, gardenia and vanilla bourbon, so you get a creamy, fruity and sunny scent that screams holiday without heading into sun cream territory.
Capri in a Bottle Lemon Sugar 14 is a bright, feisty and uplifting fragrance that will energise and awaken, thanks to the fruity lemon and raspberry that sit among lemon blossom, freesia and sugar. To me this sounds like it’s going to be really sweet (one of the things I love about Kayali scents is that they don’t shy away from sugar) but it’s actually really well balanced, with just enough sweetness to stop the fruits becoming too sour.
I genuinely would struggle to pick a favourite as they are all gorgeous and all staying in my permanent collection. If I really had to pick just one, I think I would go for Marrakesh in a Bottle (that orange blossom dries down to such a beautiful and sensual finish) but I will really enjoy having a play with all of these on my holiday, as don’t forget, they can all be layered with each other so you can create an entirely personalised fragrance with endless possibiities!

They all sound so good Sascha! Having an affordable discovery set is so helpful. I think I’d go for Marrakesh in a Bottle Orange Blossom, too!
