I’m always a bit nervous about products that are designed to adapt to your skin tone as I’m so incredibly pale. If you’re like me, then I’m very happy to share with you my Meroda Cosmetics Changing Foundation review, with an introduction to this fabulous, cruelty-free, colour changing base product that provides a light to medium coverage alongside an SPF15 in a waterproof, vegan formula that feels comfortable on the skin, leaving a dewy, skin-like finish.
The Meroda Cosmetics Changing Foundation starts off as a white cream that you work into your skin to release the colour pigment, which then adapts to your skin as you work it in. It is designed for those with fair to medium skin tones and I find that it blends in more with my skin tone a short time after application, so it helps to leave it to settle into the skin. It is extremely easy to use and blends like a dream.
As I have truly terrible skin at the moment (thank you, hormones!) I need quite a bit of coverage, so with the Meroda Cosmetics Changing Foundation, I first apply a layer with my fingers, working it all over my face until it’s blended in. Then I apply some on the back of my hand and use a brush to apply to areas that need more coverage. I find that if you work the brush into the product first, it releases the pigment effectively and you can build up a surprisingly high level of coverage using this method.
What I like most about the Meroda Cosmetics Changing Foundation is how good it looks on the skin; so often, these types of products can look and feel heavy and cakey, whilst usually having a matte or semi-matte finish, but this foundation looks so convincing, providing a really nice level of glowy coverage that stays put and plays well with other skincare and makeup.
The Meroda Cosmetics Changing Foundation is available now for £32.95 and you can find it here – link. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the range, such as the gorgeous looking Vibrant Cheeks Liquid Blushes (here – link) and keep an eye out for my review of the Velvet Dream Lipsticks and Signature Lip Pencils which I’ll be sharing very soon!
I’d say that this foundation is a bit on the dark side, definitely not for the fair skin tone. I was totally disappointed to its darkness, but luckily got my money back when I complained (consider my skin rather “medium”, but this was far too dark for it).
