FOREO have just announced they’re adding to their FAQ line with three new devices: FAQ 401, FAQ 402 and FAQ 411. The focus of these new launches seems to be centred around combining various popular beauty tech treatments alongside “the world’s first dual microcurrent device,” as the 401 and 402 both have four spheres rather than two, so you receive both vertical and horizontal microcurrent treatment simultaneously and that sounds pretty cool to me.
When FOREO first launched their FAQ line I immediately treated myself to their eye-wateringly expensive FAQ 202 which was the top-of-the-line LED mask that promised to form perfectly to your face, whatever the shape…just not my face shape, apparently. Then when I received it I realised that it just had one main LED light, with the light emitted spread out through the silicone mask, rather than lots of individual light points as is more traditional. I genuinely cannot speak for the science behind how that works and the reviews are very positive, but for me, I was happier using masks that had lots and lots of actual LED lights as my non-scientific mind felt that these would likely be more potent. Who knows? I also couldn’t get the app to sync with the mask and for over £700 I was thoroughly miffed.
I always like to treat products as individuals so I try to keep an open mind for new launches, particularly since FOREO have some fab products (such as the BEAR and the always iconic LUNA) so I’m excited to see what the new FAQ 400 line brings! Let’s take a closer look at three newbies:
FAQ 401: this appears to be the entry-level device at £369, providing an AI-powered microcurrent treatment that carefully adjusts the microcurrent intensity based on how your muscles responds (that does sound very cool) alongside T-Sonic Massage plus red and blue LED light therapy. It also comes with a Manuka Honey Primer which you use with the device.
FAG 402: this seems to build on the technology presented in the FAQ 401, but with the addition of near infrared LED and Electroporation, the latter of which encourages deeper absorption of product by using electrical pulses to open temporary micro-channels, à la the Medicube Booster Pro. The 402 is £559 and comes with the aforementioned primer as well as a pack of 5 Glass Skin Hydrogel Collagen Face Masks.
FAQ 411: this is a body device that utilises microcurrent, red LED light therapy and T-Sonic massage to treat common body concerns such as laxity and cellulite. It comes with the Body Sculpt Serum and is £369.
First impressions have definitely got my interest piqued and I look forward to seeing what people think when the devices launch!
