I’ve shared my appreciation of ShopMy quite a bit on my Instagram stories, and every time I do I get questions about how it works and what the benefits are, so I thought I’d do a write-up sharing my thoughts on why I’ve been shifting the majority of my affiliate links to ShopMy from other sites such as Awin and Skimlinks (some brands tend to prefer Awin so I try to accommodate, when I can) and hopefully answer those questions; I’ll share what I like, what I love and what needs improving.
ShopMy is a USA based affiliate network, however, they support a lot of UK retailers. The reason I joined was because a brand I love working with said that they rated the site and that they found it easier to generate discount codes on there, so I joined up and spent quite a bit of time thoroughly confused about how the site works. Unfortunately, it isn’t especially clear how to use the site when you first join, although they do have tutorials which help. The biggest issue I had was making sure that the links I generated through the site were suited to my mostly UK audience, but I fixed that very quickly by making sure I grabbed links from the brand site I wanted and using this on the “add by URL” section of the Links page. This quickly allowed me to view all my linked products and put together “shelves” in the “my storefront” section. It’s actually both practical and really enjoyable being able to put together themed edits (My Favourite Masks, Makeup for a Natural Look, Most Exciting Beauty Launches for May 2025, etc) and you can also use these to compliment your other content. For example, if you film a skincare routine, you can link all the products in a matching shelf and then your readers/viewers can easily access the products.

Above you can see the earnings I’ve generated through ShopMy since I joined in December. It isn’t a fortune, but it’s a respectable amount each month, especially as a lot of it comes from content I’ve already published, so it behaves like a passive income. Payments are weekly, but unfortunately they only offer PayPal as a payment option, which for me is a huge issue as I’m not a fan of PayPal – their fees are high and I would much prefer a bank transfer; hopefully this is an option that they’ll add in the future; I understand that their US creators have more payment options available to them.
Whilst I mostly have moved my affiliate links to ShopMy due to the ease of use (once you get the hang of it!) I also like them because they seem to have much higher commission rates than other sites, with many offering 10% – 20%; if you use other affiliate networks then you’ll know that these are decent figures. I also find them consistent with payment, which all happens automatically, although I will say that some sites offer extended time for returns, so sometimes you’ll be in for a bit of a wait for the payment to clear. All-in-all, I’ve been really happy with my ShopMy experience so I highly recommend joining (it’s free, obviously, but just thought I’d mention!) if you’re a creator too and want to maximise your affiliate links. If you have any questions at all, leave them below and I’ll answer ASAP.
You can join via my link here, where we’ll both benefit from a 10% earnings boost for the first six months. However, if you’d prefer to join independently then head to this link here.
