It’s Mask Monday time again! After a slight hiatus thanks to Bank Holidays and lacking organisational skills, but now I’m back and I’m masking up good and proper, starting with one of the two new launches in the range of Clinique masks. I think it’s fair to say that Clinique product no-nonsense skincare that does what it says on the tin, and that’s very much the case for the new Pore Refining Solutions Charcoal Mask.
This is quite clearly a mask designed to suck all the nasties to the surface of your skin and whip them away. Whilst it isn’t overly drying or aggravating, I would tread carefully if your skin is sensitive as this dries extremely hard – as in, struggle-to-move-face-underneath-it hard – and you need quite a bit of effort to get it off, which is not for everyone.
However, once it’s off, skin looks noticeably cleaner and clearer; I had a horrid, nasty, large spot on my chin that had visibly shrunk after the removal of this mask, so clearly it’s doing something right. I think, if you’re spot prone and want something that really will work, this is a great option for you. However, if you’re just a bit oily and want to mattify skin then there are other, more gentle options available. I’ll be using this around the time of the month when I start getting those annoying surface spots and extra oiliness as this mask will nip all of that in the bud. The Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Charcoal Mask is very well priced at £22 here – link.

I have such terrible trouble with acne and scarring, I have been exploring charcoal products. This might be a good one for my birthday wishlist. I can use it to send not so subtle hints to my family haha. x
