I have been putting off reviewing the new YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint Foundation for quite some time as my skin has been so horrendously volatile, that it’s only recently I’ve started featuring face shot reviews again – so expect a barrage of foundation posts over the coming weeks! The gorgeous new YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint Foundation is a full-coverage reformulation that promises 8 hours of sleep in a foundation.
It comes in 22 shades and contains a light reflecting formula that is (thankfully!) sparkle-free; just think of the cult YSL Touche Éclat in foundation form with a good hit of natural yet high coverage, and you have Le Teint. It’s worth pointing out that this is high-street high coverage rather than MUA high coverage, so if you’re unfortunate to have very scarred or pigmented skin then you’ll need some concealer on top or colour corrector underneath.
As I mentioned earlier, my skin has been shocking recently, mainly due to my Anaemia which has sent everything out of whack. Consequently, I’ve relied heavily on some fantastic colour correctors alongside high coverage foundations, and the YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint Foundation (I wear shade B10 which is perfect for my very fair skin) is a brilliant example of a foundation that can offer a natural yet high coverage finish without looking mask-like. In the before and after pictures you can see that I’ve got a lot of redness, pigmentation from spots and of course breakouts, so anything I use certainly has its work cut out. I thought it was a good idea to include all stages of the covering process so you could see what I mean – the colour corrector can only take things so far, so you definitely need a good base to step-in, and the YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint Foundation is easy to apply, blends really well with the skin, leaves a finish that is somewhere between dewy and demi-matte, lasts really, really well, and most importantly, skin feels good after removal too – it doesn’t feel like it’s been caked in heavy, skin-hating makeup all day. It’s £32.50 which I’d say is about right, considering it’s a high performance, luxury product. Find the YSL Touche Éclat Le Teint Foundation here.
