I’ve recently gone much ashier with my hair colour and I’ve been seeking out products that will help my maintain it, as within weeks of a new ashy dye job, my hair fights it’s way back to a more yellowy, brassy shade that I really don’t like, at least not in comparison to the ashier shades that I really dig – I like having hair that’s so ashy in tone it’s almost grey…without being actually grey, of course! Having sought the advice of fellow ashy-toned friends, the products that kept getting repeatedly recommended were those from Touch of Silver, so I called in the Brightening Shampoo and Intensive Conditioner to see if they could help me fight the brass.
The Brightening Shampoo is an impressive shade of deep, almost blackened violet that looks brilliant as it comes out, and stays strong and deep as you work it into your hair. The could is designed to completely counteract any warmth in the hair, but don’t worry, it won’t dye it purple unless you leave it on for quite some time; you use this in a traditional fashion by working it into hair, then immediately rinsing it out. You then follow with the Intensive Conditioner that’s a lighter, gentler purple that’ll just add a bit of a finishing touch with regards to cancelling any yellow tones, whilst also leaving your hair feeling soft and very well conditioned without any additional weight. After one use I wasn’t really expecting much but this pair really did the trick! I used it just as the ash was starting to look a little warmer and it completely nipped that in the bud, returning my hair to it’s former ashy self. I will definitely be using this duo once a week to help keep things cool and if you’d like to maintain your ashy tones then this very affordable duo will definitely help you do that. The Brightening Shampoo is £3.19 and can be found here – link – and the Intensive Conditioner is £2.12 here – link.
I used to use this when I was really blonde. It’s awesome 🙂

I’m honestly so impressed! A total bargain and it actually works!
I tried this for the first time the other day after having highlights put in. I hated the scent for starters, and found it didn’t leave my hair looking or feeling very clean afterwards.
Oh that’s a shame! I found my hair felt very clean afterwards without feeling too stripped – it was definitely these two you tried and not the others from the range?
