I was planning to write a post that combined an introduction to the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Love Lipsticks alongside a review, but I feared I was risking an excessively long essay, so I thought I’d split it into two, starting with a quick introduction to this gorgeous range of lipsticks. It’s a really interesting launch as it feels young and fun, which is not the sort of adjectives you’d normally associate with Estee Lauder, who, I feel, tend to target a slightly older market, but the Pure Colour Love Lipsticks really are playful and exciting.
First-up, apologies for my rubbish iPhone photos; I so rarely include event photos on my blog as I tend to only use them for Instagram. The idea behind Estee Lauder Pure Colour Love Lipsticks is that they’re designed to be experimented with and you can create your own colour and mix it up by using more than one shade at once, with the tag line being ‘play it your way’.
The Pure Colour Love Lipsticks are available in four finishes and 30 shades. The finishes are Cooled Chromes – the edgiest of the options, this gives a bold, metallic finish; Shimmer Pearls (six shades) – a creamy, pearlescent finish; Ultra Mattes – pigmented matte in a comfortable format and finally, my favourite, Edgy Cremes – a pop of colour in a comfortable cream finish.
What I especially love about the Pure Colour Lipsticks is how many possibilities there are, so if you’re a fan of customising and creating colour, you’ll be in your element with these. Having said that, there are such great shades already within the range (I’ve found an absolute favourite – more on that in the review post!) that every taste is covered, with a great selection of nudes, pinks, brights, berries and a few more unusual shades too.
Finally, the price point for the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipsticks is really decent at £19 a go. Obviously these are still luxury lipsticks with a matching price tag, but existing Estee Lauder Lipsticks are £25.50, so there’s quite a significant drop in price, which again makes them just that little bit more accessible…plus it’s now easier to justify buying more that one shade! I’ll be following up with a review of the three shades I have very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that. Check out the full range here – link.
