I had surgery recently and the GOSH AW17 launch event was exactly a week after the date I had the surgery itself – most sensible people would have stayed home to continue their recovery, but I couldn’t quite bring myself to miss out on all the GOSH newness! So I decided to get taxis there and back (not allowed to drive and didn’t fancy the train) and, even though I was feeling a little tender that night, I’m glad I went in as GOSH never let me down with their exciting innovations.
As usual, the collection is massive and there’s loads to get excited about – I’m sure you can find at least one thing you need in your life. The Primer Plus Skin Adaptor Anti-Pollution is a bit of a wonder product that performs a variety of tasks such as evening skin tone, smoothing, hydrating and generally priming skin. The Prime ‘n’ Set Primer and Mattifying Setting Powder (£9.99) is now available in Banana, which is a yellow-toned powder designed to counteract any redness in the skin. I was especially excited to get my hands on the Colour Corrector Kit (£11.99) which is a palette of five corrector shades that’ll help correct various issues such as redness, dark circles and sallowness.
There’s a new shade collection joining the existing Strobe ‘n’ Glow Kit (£12.99) which is a quad of cheek products in pretty, flattering shades. The new arrival is the Blush quad (the original is Highlight) which contains 1 highlighter shade, 2 glow-giving blush shades and 1 matte shade, so you’ve got lots of options to mix and match. Lumidrops (£7.99) are liquid highlighters that can be used on their own or added to other make-up, with two shades available – Rose Gold (pictured) or Gold. There are some new brushes joining the collection too, with the one pictured being the Mix & Fix Blender Brush (£9.99).
The Eye Shadow Primer (£8.99) is a really good example of how well GOSH take ideas and better them, as this handy tool has a pencil-style primer at one end and a sponge at the other to work the primer in to the skin. For some reason, I’ve never got on especially well with GOSH mascaras, but the My Favourite Mascara (£9.99) looks well designed so I’m definitely going to give it a thorough testing. The brush has two different sides so you can tailor your finish to get your perfect, everyday lashes. I love the GOSH 9 Shades Eye Shadow Palettes (£11.99) as they’re just great high street finds, providing fabulous colour in a great formula. This colourway is called To Party in London.
The Growth Serum for Brows (£16.99) is a great idea; it’s a brow taming gel that also provides brow-boosting benefits, so you can thicken your brows, both literally and aesthetically. Lift and Highlight (£9.99) is a double-ended highlighter with a shimmery end and a matte end, available in two shades: Nude and Rose. The final product is the Brow Shape and Fill (£8.99) which is one of the products I’m most excited about as it’s available in three shades, one of which is Grey Brown (the others are Brown and Dark Brown) and I love anything that suggests it’s got grey undertones, so I was happy to get my hands on this.
It’s a creamy pencil, then you unscrew the base to find a matching powder, making this a really fabulous brow product that’ll work especially well with the Growth Serum for Brows. The full collection is available now at Superdrug here – link.
