Since the stressful time started, it isn’t just my facial skin that’s been suffering but the skin around my eyes too. I noticed a couple of weeks ago (in a rather hideous, sudden realisation) that my eye area was looking so dry that not only was it flaky, it was also really, really crepey and the fine lines were looking much deeper than they should on the face of a 28 year old!
I didn’t want to go out and buy yet another eye cream or treatment, so I decided to look at the products I already have and come up with a plan to get my eye skin looking good again. It’s a safe assumption that I have at least 10 different eye treatments, and whilst many of them are effective, they all have flaws. I wanted a treatment that was deeply moisturising yet didn’t give me the little white dots that often come with over moisturising the area and I also wanted to avoid having oily eye lids.
I first reviewed Forest Secrets a while ago and discussed how fantastically moisturising the two combined products are. Both serums are suitable for use on the eye area as well and they do a fantastic job at deeply moisturising skin without leaving it feeling greasy or feeling saturated. As I’m sure anyone who’s beauty obsessed will agree, I come across so many amazing products that get usurped by my need to try new things constantly and this is what happened with the Forest Secrets products; they got stored and forgotten about. It’s only since I started using the iRejuvenate Plus Elixir as an eye treatment again that I was reminded just how great the range is.
So I decided to mix two drops of the iRejuvenate Plus Elixir with 2 drops of Etat Pur’s Hyaluronic Acid (as discussed in more detail in my five favourite Etat Pur Actives post) as I was really keen to make sure that my eye area was getting as much moisture as possible without flooding it. Hyaluronic Acid is renowned for it’s ability to trap and hold moisture in the skin, so I definitely thought this was something my eye area was crying (no pun intended) out for!
Together, the two products create a gel like formula that my eye skin is absolutely in love with. It’s been a while since I’ve had such soft skin in this area and the creping and lines have visibly softened, so I’m a happy bunny!
Disclosure: both products were PR samples at various times over the past few months.
Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anybody putting that much thought into what they use around their eyes. I’d get a bit lost mixing products like that, but I’m glad it’s working for you!
Ha ha 😀 Yeah….that amount of thought goes into everything skincare related, sadly! That’s why I stay so slim; lots of nervous energy!! 😉 xx
Ahhh, so that’s the secret, then! And here’s me running up and down hills like a crazy woman! 😉
I’m confident your way’s better; I’m going to die young and anxious (but at least I’ll be slim….) 😉 xx
