Finding a good at-home gel nails kit was like a revelation to me, as gel kits allow you to give yourself a very quick nail job with long-lasting results, and no sitting around waiting for the polish to set and dry. The only reason I don’t use gel nails religiously is because I like the freedom to quickly chop and change colour, which I don’t think you can do with gel polish – the irony being that it’s actually more of a hassle to remove the polish than it is to apply it! Sensationail recently launched their StripGel Peel Off Base Coat, which is designed to address the common concern of at-home removal.
The Sensationail StripGel Peel Off Base Coat is pretty much as it sounds, a base coat that can join any gel nail kit and allow you to peel off your polish when you’ve had enough, so not only does it make like a lot easier, it’s also generally a lot kinder to nails than the more traditional gel nail removal method, so I think this is a product that addresses the two big concerns most people have with gel nails: removal hassle and possible damage to nails. My big concern was that this would reduce the effectiveness and longevity of the gel polish, but I was pleasantly surprised as I found that the gel didn’t budge until I was ready to start peeling, a process which is pretty satisfying, brilliantly quick and very easy! This is definitely a game-changer and a product I’d really recommend adding to your gel nail kit…speaking of which, I did actually try this alongside the Sensationail gel kit, and I found the whole experience to be really positive – the polishes are of perfect consistency, so you get a really good, clean finish and the whole process was unbelievably quick – I decided on a whim to do my nails and within 15 minutes they were all done and completely dry. Check out my Instagram post here where I tried out the shade, Metal Me Pink. Find the StripGel Peel Off Base Coat for £15 here – link. I’ve also just seen that Boots have a really good deal on the Sensationail Deluxe StripGel Starter Kit, which of course contains the aforementioned base coat, alongside a total start kit with the LED lamp, plus four full-sized polishes. Normally £89.99, it’s currently £49.99 here – link.
