Lancome Lash Idole Mascara (First Look)

I keep a very open mind when it comes to beauty, I’m fickle and can be very easily swayed from a “Holy Grail” product, but Lancome make the absolute best mascaras on the planet and you will never change my mind on that, so you can imagine how excited I was to get my hands on the new Lancome Lash Idole Mascara! Consequently, I wanted to do a quick “first look” post before following up with a full review.  I have a hospital appointment on Sunday so I get to actually wear this out and I am embarrassingly excited…

The Lancome Lash Idole Mascara is quite different to the usual Lancome mascara packaging – variants of slinky black with gold embellishment – this one is sturdier, boxy and a beautiful silvery pink (a cool-toned rose gold) with black sides, and the reason for this (as the name suggests) is because it’s a lash take on the beautiful Lancome Idole fragrance – as if I couldn’t love it anymore! The Lancome Idole fragrances are all about female empowerment, keeping things feminine but strong and encouraging and now we have a mascara to match.

The brush head is curved, which I personally think works best if you’re like me and have poker straight lashes that refuse to curl, as this sort of shape really helps to lift and separate.  The brush head has 360 micro bristles in 125 different sizes, so no lash will get missed as they will get into literally every lash nook; Lancome mascaras are generally very good for grabbing every last lash and ensuring they get coverage, so I can’t wait to see what this one does.

The mascara formula itself is formulated to care for lashes, containing white tea extra that helps maintain lash condition.  The formula is also a gel-emulsion designed to glide over each lash (so presumably less likely to clump) and ensure each lash is coated in product for maximum volumising effect.  It’s also designed to stay put for up to 24 hours, so I’m looking forward to testing that out!

As if I wasn’t completely sold already, they also have the beautiful Zendaya modelling it as the face of Lancome, so it’s pretty much perfection in a tube really isn’t it? Obviously this is all speculative as I need to give it a good try before sharing my review, which I promise to do ASAP.
