I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the newly reformulated Ole Henriksen Banana Bright + Eye Crème as everyone raves so much about the original, but annoyingly, it didn’t sit well on my under eye area (as is the case for about 90% of the eye creams I try – I think there’s something wrong with my skin!) so I had high hopes for this new incarnation that’s now fragrance-free, and contains real gold to provide a brightening effect.
The Ole Henriksen Banana Bright + Eye Crème reformulation promises a multitude of benefits, helping to target both crows feet and dark circles whilst also working as a reliable base for concealer. It also will brighten and colour-correct, so it really is a do-it-all product that can be used both AM and PM. It has no scent and a peachy tint, with a firm consistency that’s kind of like a non-greasy butter.
I’ve been using the Ole Henriksen Banana Bright + Eye Crème (on my very fussy skin) regularly since I received it and can say that it definitely works immediately, providing a really good level of correction that reduces the darkness and blue tones under my eyes, much more than I anticipated. I also think the brightening effect is really noticeable too, so the immediate impact gets a thumbs-up from me. I can’t speak for the long-term benefits yet as it’s too soon to tell, but I will say that it’s a very light product that I don’t find provides enough hydration for my night-time use, where I like a dense, rich product that really nourishes my 38 year old eyes, but for day use this is absolutely perfect and the Goldilocks of eye creams; not too rich, not too light, just right.
