The Panasonic NA65 Nanoe Hairdryer has been in my possession for well over a month now, so I thought it was time I shared my thoughts on how it performs. There’s no shying away from the fact that it is an impressive bit of kit; not only does it look high-tech, it’s also designed to retain 1000 times more moisture in the hair and scalp than the average ionic hairdryer, making it perfect for dry, damaged, styled and coloured hair.
It’s got 3 heat settings and 3 power settings, plus it comes with 3 attachments: the condenser – a typical attachment designed for controlled focus for blow-drying; a diffuser – a fabulous attachment aimed at adding texture, movement and volume to hair; and the most exciting attachment in my eyes, which is the quick-dry nozzle, which mixes up the airflow to make sure every shaft of hair gets covered, resulting in a much quicker dry. This really works so I’m seriously impressed with the quick-dry, especially as I’ve never seen or heard anything like it.
This is one powerful machine at 2000 watts and it’s a big and impressive looking product, yet it’s actually very light and easy to use, helped in part by its extra long cord. It delivers on its promise and leaves hair soft, shiny and very healthy looking, and having read several online reviews, it’s extremely popular. However…
…I just can’t get on with it! I don’t know if it’s my crazy pregnancy hormones kicking in and making my hair do funny things, but it really greases up my hair unless I’m extremely careful and only use it to dry my hair for a few minutes. No matter what heat setting or power setting I use, I end up with very lank and greasy looking hair that looks like it hasn’t been washed for over a week, and this will be moments after I’ve finished drying it.
I’ve tried everything as I so wanted it to work for me, as it really is a lovely product to use and work with, but for whatever reason, my hair does not like this and on that basis, I can’t continue to use it. However, I will definitely revisit it once I’ve had my Little Man and see if it was the pregnancy or the product, and if it turns out to be the former then I’ll definitely write an update. The Panasonic NA65 Nanoe Hairdryer is available now from Boots for £99.99.

How hard is the defuser? Does it hurt on use?

Hi Emily,
It’s absolutely solid acrylic; I wouldn’t say it hurts to use but I don’t think it’s something you’d want to be too aggressive with xx
I am having the same problem, my hair is really static and then looks like it’s not been washed. I’m not pregnant I might add! But I’m really disappointed as I was really excited to use it. Iv even tried changing shampoo and not using any products but it still looks greasy immediately
That’s so annoying! I remember thinking it was really bad – what a shame, sorry to read you’re having the same struggles xx
