Avon have released a couple of palettes in time for Christmas that are extremely well put together, although they come with a fairly hefty price-tag. The more expensive of these palettes is the Mix ‘n’ Go palette as blogged about here and the cheaper is this Pretty in Neutrals Make-Up Palette which I think is ideal for my Gifts of Christmas series.
The Avon Pretty in Neutrals Make-Up Palette contains a solid edit of nudes that any neutral fan will love, and there’s a lot included:
24 eyeshadows in various finishes
6 blushers
4 lipglosses in palette format
6 applicators (3 of which are double-ended)
The quality of the eyeshadows and blushes is really good and I’m especially keen on the eyeshadows since there’s such a fantastic range of colours that cover everything from light, vanilla shades to deep, dark and vampy navys, plums and greys; there really is a good collection of shades that span a surprisingly wide spectrum considering they all need to fall under the ‘neutral’ umbrella.
As is always the case with these kinds of palettes, the applicators aren’t really that useful, but for very quick touch ups and/or application on-the-go they’re more than sufficient. I wouldn’t say I’m particularly taken by the colours of the lipglosses, but to be honest that’s more to do with the fact that I’m not really a fan of brown-leaning lip colours as they don’t tend to flatter my skin tone. The setup of the palette is really well designed, as you have the eyeshadows all on the top layer, with the rest of the products on a slide-out bottom layer.
Taking all things into consideration this is a fantastic palette that I’ve used plentifully since I received it. It’s £30 which is quite expensive for an Avon product in my opinion, but for that you get both decent quality and a seriously good selection. Also, if you spend £10 or more across the Avon site, you can pick this palette up for £10 which to be is a total bargain, so head here – link – to get yours.
