I love BB Creams but I do find a lot of them to be quite sheer in coverage, and the only one I’ve found to offer fairly decent coverage is the Ginvera Green Tea one…until now. The Jane Iredale Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream (notice I’ve omitted “Glow Time” yet it’s still an astoundingly long name) is BB Cream specifically designed, as the name suggests, to offer a high coverage finish which is especially useful for problematic skin types like mine. There really aren’t a lot of BB Creams available that are formulated in this fashion so I couldn’t wait to give this a whirl.
I was sent the BB3 shade (there are six shades in total) which at first I thought might be a little too pale for me (and it isn’t even the palest shade!) but it’s actually a perfect match. The product is typical BB texture; it’s a thick cream that blends like a dream and takes a few minutes to merge with skin, but once it does it’s pretty much invisible. Due to it’s high coverage, you can actually mix it with moisturiser for less of a high coverage finish which is handy as it isn’t a cheap product.
The skincare elements include grapefruit extract to promote radiance, apple extract to smooth skin, sunflower seed oil to moisturise and aloe leaf juice to sooth. I will go all out and say this is my favourite BB Cream yet. It delivers brilliantly in it’s high coverage claims and within five minutes of application it has settled down to the most beautifully satin finish that looks very natural and skin-like; I’ve never actually experienced a finish quite like it but it’s absolutely dreamy. I have awfully scarred skin at the moment from the hormonal spots I developed both during and after pregnancy and this covers it brilliantly. It also lasts all day, but keep in mind that if you’re prone to oiliness then you will need to powder after a few hours, however this doesn’t impact the coverage element at all. It also feels great and light on the skin and hasn’t broken me out at all, so this is a total winner for me. The Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream is available now in six shades for £39.95. However, if you purchase from JI Make-Up here – link – you get it for £31.96 including P&P.
