Trish McEvoy is a name I’d heard quite a few times but had never really known much about (both the brand and the person) until last week when I was invited to an event that’s probably one of my most favourite for quite some time! Trish herself was there to talk us through her new collection, the Azure line, and we also had group sessions with her make-up artists to work our way through each step of the Azure Power of Make-up Planner which is what I’m posting about today.
For those unfamiliar, the Make-up Planners are kits that cover every aspect of making up other than the main base (foundation) and brows (either pencil or powder) so those two you’ll need to add yourself, but literally everything else is included, and here’s what you get in this particular planner:
Petite Makeup Planner® Azure
Eye Base Essentials Bare
Intense Gel Eye Liner Black (sample size)
Pencil Sharpener
Lash Curling Mascara
Instant Eye Lift Shade 1
Petite Makeup Wardrobing® Page
Bronzer Golden (smaller size)
Face Shaper Highlight 1
Blush Natural
Translucent Finishing Powder – travel size
Flawless Lip Color Chic
Beauty Emergency Card for Eyes:
- Deluxe Eye Shadow in Soft Peach
- Eye Shadows in Antique Rose and Barely Blue
- Glaze Eye Shadows Ballet Pink, Rose Quartz and Pearl
- Pearl Eye Definers Paris Nights and Arabian Nights
As you can see, there’s a massive amount included and if you fancy going on a bit of Feng Shui mission and chucking out all your make-up to start again (don’t do it! It’ll all end in tears!!) then here’s the kit that can help you start afresh. It’s also very well designed to take up very little room and travel well. My personal planner came engraved with my initial on the front which was very cool too!
The products are a bit of a mixed bag for me as I’m not a fan of shimmer in bronzers and blushers, nor do I like those mascaras that form tubes around lashes as I like the traditional style of make-up removal (however my mum goes crazy for those types of mascaras) but the eyeliner is fantastic – it really is like a liquid in a pencil and it means you can tightline eyes without having to faff about with liner cake and brush – and I also really like the Emergency Card for Eyes as I think the colour selection is fab and it’s such a great concept. Plus the shadows themselves are brilliant and wear very well. Lastly, the Eye Base is *amazing* as my eyeshadow looked exactly the same after 11 hours of wear as when I applied it, so it’s a “must buy” from me!
I’d say if you have the money and want a whole new kit, then the Trish McEvoy Azure Power of Make-up Planner is a fabulous investment that’ll definitely perk up your kit. However, if you can’t stretch to the full kit but would like to try something from the range, I recommend trying the Gel Eye Liner or the Eye Base to start of with and see how you get on. It’s also worth noting that there are some glorious pink shades in her lipstick line if that’s your sort of thing! The Azure Planner is available now from Selfridges – link – for £125 as are the other two launches in the Azure Line. Trish is married to a Dermatologist and consequently has some amazing skincare as part of her line, and I’m lucky enough to have a few bits to try, so keep your eyes peeled for those reviews soon.
