I rather like the concept of the AW14 releases from Elizabeth Arden, as it appears to be built around the Untold fragrance which I think is quite a lovely way to do things; the idea of a fragrance that matches a make-up collection appeals to me for some reason…no idea why! The Untold Colour Collection consists of four new launches; 2 palettes, 2 lipglosses, 6 liners and 4 brow pencils.
I have a a few bits to show you today and I’ll start with the Beautiful Color Eye Shadow Quads, of which there are two variants – Chic Browns and Posh Purple. I’m sure you can work this out yourself, but the quad above is Posh Purple. The Posh Purple edit contains some lovely muted takes on the purple colour spectrum, along with one pale highlighting shade and a more traditional colour-pop purple.
There’s a slightly purple leaning taupe shade (second left in swatch above) which has won me over – I’ve got *such* a thing for purple-leaning taupes lately – and the four colours compliment each other really well without being too typical. Each palette is £26.
Next are the Beautiful Color Precision Glide Eye Liners, of which there are six shades and the colour range is really strong. The shades are Black Velvet, Slate, Java, Sapphire, Blackberry and Emerald and I have Java and Emerald.
There’s nothing overly exciting shade-wise, but the basics are covered so if you enjoy traditional make-up then you’ll like these creamy, easy to blend formulas that come with a smudgy end for blending. These are £17 each.
The Beautiful Color Natural Eye Brow Pencils are the launches I’m most excited about for two reasons; firstly, I’m going through a total brow phase at the moment so anything brow makes me happy and secondly, the colour range is really good and contains four shades, the lightest of which – Honey Blonde – is too light for me which I think is the first time that’s ever happened with a brow product! This is good news as I know a lot of people have a very hard time finding brow pencils pale enough for them, so this is definitely one to try. The other three shades are Natural Beige (the one I think I’d be), Brownette and Natural Black, each of which are £17.
Lastly there are also two shades of the Beautiful Color Luminous Lipgloss in seriously interesting shades – Glamorous Gold and Intriguing Violet. I love purple lips; I think with the right make-up they can look pretty amazing. Theses are £17. The Elizabeth Arden Untold Colour Collection is available now – link.
