Salon Science Swiss Grape Retextuluxe Hair Care

Salon Science are an extensive range of hair care products that have recently launched into boots.  There are four categories in the range: Anti-Ageing and Restored Volume which makes use of stem-cell technology, 3 Step Hair Loss Regime that includes Organic Pea Sprout, Scalp Relief with Aquacacteen (nope, no idea either) and lastly, Repair and Radiance with GSP-T and Swiss Grape, the latter of which is the range I chose to try.

Now the Salon Science range, as the name suggests, is extremely scientific; they’ve done all sorts of studies into formulations and ingredients that work best to tackle specific and common hair concerns.  I’m not going to launch into more detail than that as it’ll only bore the both of us, but I will say have a look here – link – if you fancy getting your geek on.  The Rextextuluxe range is best suited to damaged and coloured hair.  I was in mixed minds as to whether I should go for this range or the volume range, but I’m glad I went with this range as it suits my hair perfectly.  I use the shampoo conditioner constantly as they are absolutely lovely and very much the “Goldilocks” of hair care for me; they’re rich enough to provide my hair with a good boost of moisture but not so rich that they weigh my fine hair down.  They also smell fantastic thanks to the Swiss Grape, plus the conditioner looks and feels like a rich moisturiser which is lovely to apply to hair.  If I had one complaint, I’d say that I’d prefer the conditioner to completely soften my knotty hair, as when I run a comb through it to move the conditioner around it can sometimes take a bit more effort than I’m used to, but it’s a small thing that I’m happy to ignore.  My hair feels healthy, shiny, soft and looks very thick, even when I haven’t used any additional styling products, so it really is in the best condition it’s been for a while.

I also have the ReCorrect Leave In Treatment which I don’t use that often as I really don’t think my hair needs it once washed with the above products, but I do use it on every wash after I’ve used a heat-styler just to add a bit more repairing to my hair care routine as it’s a corrective product packed full of antioxidants, so it’s almost like a leave-in mask treatment.  Tread carefully with this if you have hair like mine though as too much can make hair look very greasy.  It also works really well as a frizz-tamer on flyaway ends if you’ve gone at it too hard with a brush or a styler.  In conclusion, as you can probably tell, I’m a huge fan of these new launches from Salon Science.  They’re not the cheapest products you’ll find but I do recommend giving them a go if you struggle with hair care as I’ve been so impressed with what I’ve tried.  The shampoo is £13, whilst the conditioner and leave-in treatments are £15 each.  There’s currently a 3for2 on at Boots here – link – which would make for a mega saving if you fancy sampling a few products from the range.  I’ve added their Swiss Apple Masque to my lust list.
