The L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Makeup range has been designed with mature skin in mind, so the textures and colours are flattering, comfortable and easy to work with. A makeup range aimed at older women would be so easy to get wrong, but the L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Makeup is spot-on; the packaging is clean and attractive, the collection itself is comprehensive and the products are exciting – it’s great to have a range that’s aimed at more mature women without ostracising the wider customer base.
There are three base products in the range with the two key products being the Age Perfect Radiant Concealer (3 shades – £9.99) and the pictured Anti-Ageing Radiant Foundation (13 shades – 10 of which are available now, whilst the remaining three are only available at Boots.com £12.99), the latter of which I’ve been trying out and can say that the formula is beautiful, with surprisingly impressive coverage; it would be so easy to assume that more mature skin favours a lighter coverage, but we all want (and deserve!) choice so I like the fact that the Anti-Ageing Radiant Foundation offers buildable coverage in a formula that adds glow without greasiness. Find it here – link.
The Age Perfect Rouge Lumiere Lipsticks are the products that I think most will find exciting. There are 12 shades that are a fantastic mix of brights and neutrals, so there really will be something to suit all tastes – I’m really impressed with the colour range and I also love the packaging. The lipstick contains the colour pigment itself, which sits around a balm formulated with lip-smoothing oils that promote smoother looking lips in just two weeks. They’re £7.99 here – link.
The other lip product in the range is the Age Perfect Anti-Feathering Lip Liner which comes in six shades – I’m not normally a fan of lip liner and I’m not saying this has completely converted me, but this is beautifully creamy and very comfortable to wear, plus it blends into the lip line really well, so if you’ve previously been unsure of lip liners, this is a great one to try for £5.99 here – link.
The beautiful Age Perfect Satin Glow Illuminating Blusher is available in four shades. I have two of them and both are the sort of suits-all shades that give you that healthy glow that makes all the difference – I’m a huge blusher fan (I think everyone looks better with a touch of colour!) and these are brilliant; brilliant shades, brilliant formula, brilliant price at £7.99 here – link. The Age Perfect Lash Magnifying Mascara comes in two shades and the formula gives that beautifully natural, fluttery look that’s so incredibly pretty. It also strengthens lashes over time and I’m surprised how much I like the brown shade. It’s £11.99 here – link. The final product in the range is the Age Perfect Brow Magnifier which comes in two ashy shades that I could not love more, as someone who’s always on the hunt for an ashy brow product. The pencils are so easy to use, giving a flattering, natural look that’s virtually foolproof.
Whilst this is a range designed with mature skin in mind, it’s also a range that celebrates beauty at any age, containing products that are perfect for creating really natural, flattering looks that suit everyone; above I’m wearing the palest Anti-Ageing Radiant Foundation, the Age Perfect Sating Glow Illuminating Blusher in Rosewood, the Age Perfect Brow Magnifier in Grey Blonde, the Perfect Lash Magnifying Mascara in Deep Brown, the Anti-Feathering Lip Liner in Glowing Nude and the matching Rouge Lumiere Lipstick in Glowing Nude, which all come together to provide a really easy, day-to-day look that’s healthy, glowy and natural.
The whole range is available now (Boots currently have a 3for2 on the collection), so to mark the launch I’ve got a very exciting competition: one winner will get every product I was sent, so that’s absolutely everything in the image above! That’s 10 foundations, 12 lipsticks, 6 lip liners, 2 blushers, both mascaras and both brow pencils – how fantastic is that?
