I heard of Julep years ago when I saw the Julep beauty boxes doing the rounds on American blogs; at the time they were basically nail subscription services (I think they’ve expanded to include Julep makeup too now, although we don’t have the service over here) and I thought they looked amazing! Julep have launched into QVC recently with a capsule collection of exciting and innovative makeup and skincare. I’ll be reviewing a few of the products in later posts, but for the meantime, here’s a little look at the brand and what to expect:
First up let’s look at the makeup, which mostly focuses on lips, thanks to the various formulas available in lip products, but there’s also a mascara and the Cushion Complexion 5in1 Perfector which I see being one of the more popular products as it really is lovely. The Whipped Matte Lip Mousse comes in some extremely pretty and flattering shades, with the shade range appearing to be extended if the waitlist option on the QVC site is anything to go by.
As you can see, the Julep Cushion Compexion 5in1 Perfector is a cream concealer housed in a twist-up stick with a cushion at the end. The formula itself is rich and buttery so it spreads really easily, but the pigmentation is impressive as is the 18 colour shade range which seems to go from very light to very dark, so thumbs up for a range that appears inclusive. I love the pretty colours and flattering textures of the Julep makeup products, but the skincare is really where I think the range comes into it’s own, as it’s got some lovely ideas with a definite K-Beauty vibe that I think will attract a lot of skincare-lovers! The big focus elements appear to be cleansing, with some great cleanser options and a double-cleanse package (here – link – currently £38.88) as well as hydration thanks to the oil, milk and mask, all of which are designed to provide a deeper level of hydration.
