I thought I’d put together a list of things that I’ve spent anything from a few weeks to a year coveting in the hope that the long-suffering boyfriend (LSB) will take the hint. I love gift sets; thankfully LSB clocked this quite early on in our relationship and knows that the quickest way to my heart is through a prettily packaged make-up or skincare set, ideally featuring lots and lots of little bits and bobs that I can amuse myself with. I think gift sets are like chocolate boxes without the sell-by date. As a child, I used to look at all the gift sets in the Argos catalogue knowing that one day, I’d be able to have all of them. I’m not there yet, hence this hint list:
Bobbi Brown Party To Go Palette
Obviously this wouldn’t have been a personal blog if it didn’t feature something from the tear-jerkingly beautiful (dramatic? Yes. Accurate? Also, yes) Bobbi Brown Holiday Gift Collection and since I’m still on the hunt to find my perfect grey shadow, this kit is an excellent place to start. Although it’s safe to say I’d take pretty much anything from the Holiday Gift Collection (are you listening, LSB?) apart from the Pastel Sugar Sparkle Eye Quad as whilst it’s very pretty, I’m not really a pastel kinda gal.
Philips Sonicare AirFloss
OK, so not technically a palette by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m a huge fan of both the Sonicare range and dental hygiene in general (and in all fairness, the Philips brand too if you consider how obsessed I currently am with the ReAura) so when I heard they were bringing out an air flosser I was really excited. I am such a believer in flossing as it’s essential for maintaining optimum dental health, but I have very tightly packed teeth so even the smallest dental brush bends when I try to push it through the gaps. I used to use an air flosser but the machine kept packing up and when my third machine packed up for good I figured it was working out to be too expensive. I do try and floss with those dental floss sticky things (probably not their technical name; you know the ones that are plastic sticks with a bit of floss stretched out at the end?) but I find the whole experience a bit tedious. So, LSB, I want one of these for Christmas please.
Savar Traveller’s Essentials For All Skin Types
I’m yet to use this brand but having read amazing things about it, I’d really love to try this introductory kit as it contains sample sizes of the best bits from the range including a selection of skincare and bodycare products. Pair this with the insanely gorgeous and ecologically friendly packaging, the beautiful presentation, the fact that all products are 99% natural and the knowledge that 10% of the profit the company makes goes to charity makes this the gift that keeps on giving. All bottles are also refillable meaning I can top up as and when necessary (one of my favourite friends has recently been posted to Lisbon so I’ll be doing much more travelling in the near future) and most importantly, the bottles lock after use so I don’t have to worry about leaving products abroad once they’ve been opened for fear of them leaking all over my luggage.
Bobbi Brown 20th Anniversary Lip Palette
Oh look! Another Bobbi Brown gift. I know, I’m so predictable, but come on; who wouldn’t be thrilled to unwrap this gorgeous palette on Christmas day? There’s not much I can say about this palette that I haven’t already said in my blog about the BB Holiday Collection here, but there’s just something so pretty about all those gorgeous colours squeezed into one, easy-to-use and travel friendly palette. If you don’t believe me, pop down to your local BB store and watch the various shoppers coo over the display of this palette and ‘ooo’ and ‘ahhh’ whilst the BB Make-Up Artist stands behind the counter glowing like a proud mum (probably). Seriously! I’ve seen it happen several times.
Chances are this list will be updated as I become aware of more fabulous things that I need in my life. What do you, lovely readers, hope to get for Christmas?
some lovely things on your wishlist, i’m a big fan of Liz Earle products especially. Lets hope santa is kid to us both 🙂
Gorgeous makeup but my family cannot take a hint so I doubt I’ll be unwrapping any of this lot on Christmas day 🙁
The Liz Earle stuff in particular looks amazing <3
The Bobbi Brown lip set looks lovely! I’d be over the moon if I received that for Christmas!
An air flosser?? I’ve had a water flosser before (very good, I also have tightly packed teeth!) but haven’t heard of an air flosser…I will have to look in to them!
Some nice stuff here. The Liz Earle Gift Set looks good – I’d love to try the Sheer Tint as well!
Loving the bobbi brown! Very jealous! xxx
