Here’s something a bit interesting: yesterday I signed for a box, and contained in the box was a bottle of face wash that had no info regarding what it was, other than the fact that it was a non-drying formula suitable for problem skin and that it had been well trialled and well received. There were instructions included saying that it can be used as a facial wash twice a day, or a mask three times a week.
I used it as a face wash last night and it certainly seems promising. It left my skin feeling very clean, toned and smooth. My skin did feel slightly tight afterwards, but unfortunately my skin is quite dry at the moment even though it’s still blemish-prone; my skin is very confused! A tiny bit of moisturiser rectified this and I’m definitely keen to keep using this and see what it does.
The suggested ways to use this are very similar to Neutrogena’s 2in1 mask and wash, but I’d say the advantage this wash has over the Neutrogena one is that it seems a lot more gentle and kinder to skin. I like the Neutrogena one and I definitely think it’s great for young, very oily skin, but for me it was a little bit harsh and the overly thick texture and scent was very in your face.
Obviously you can wait and see what I have to say about this new, mystery face wash, but there’s also an opportunity to get in on the guessing game by sampling it yourself. Just go to their Facebook page here and input your details, then once your sample arrives, start helping me work out what it is! As an added bonus, if you get in on the act you’ll also be entered into a draw to win £1000 TopShop Vouchers when you share your thoughts on their Facebook page.
After using it last night, the scent is very familiar and kind of along the lines of Neutrogena’s Visibly Clear Daily Cleansing Lotion, but the texture is more like Biore’s Pore Unclogging scrub, just without the scrub beads. The smell is very fresh and quite fruity; I’d say it’s kind of like a gentle blend between cucumber and maybe a little bit grapefruity. I’ve had a mooch through the ingredients list and there’s some great inclusions like Salicylic Acid and Kaolin – both of which are fab for problem skins, so this new, mysterious facial wash certainly sounds promising so far. The big reveal will be on March 1st 2012.

It’s quite a good idea isn’t it? I’m certainly intrigued 🙂 xx
Ooh, sounds very mysterious. I have requested a sample 🙂
Fab, let me know if you figure out what it is! xx
Cool, I’m intrigued, thanks for the head’s up. I requested a sample as well. 🙂
Excellent 🙂 I’ll be interested to hear what you think of it xx
Yes, when I saw these popping out on blogs this morning I thought about the Neutrogena Visibly Clean as well, but the sample being a new product, i guess it is not this one! Also, doing my research about the brands and all. I now have an idea of what it is!
Have requested my sample, so hopefully will be able to assess if it’s right 🙂
Ooo share! I know a few people have their suspicions so it’ll be interesting to see whether they turn out to be right xx
