No7 Beautiful Skin Collection and Vital Enlightening Powder: First Look

January 27, 2012 · In: Acne, Reviews, Skincare

I made my usual bi-weekly trip to Boots today and was thrilled to see that both the Beautiful Skin range AND the Vital make-up range had landed.  What’s rather fab too is that they have the ranges put into sample packs that you can purchase for a fiver, so you can try before you commit to the larger products without worrying about spending too much money.  Unfortunately you can’t use a No7 £5 voucher to purchase the try-me kits, but they are eligible for the 3for2 and you can use the voucher within that deal too, so there are certainly savings to be made!  It’s worth mentioning that within the try-me kits you get a No7 £5 voucher, so as long as you’re planning to get something from the Beautiful Skin range you can get the kit for free with a little bit of planning.

The Beautiful Skin collection is based around the idea that you only need a decent cleanser, a day cream and a night cream so they’re essentially doing away with the toner stage completely.  Each try-me kit is divided into the three main skin types that their BB Creams also follow (more info here) which are Dry/Very Dry, Normal/Dry and Normal/Oily.  I purchased the try-me Normal/Oily kit to try the moisturisers (I’ve been trialling the Cleansing Water from the range – review to follow soon) and the Melting Gel Cleanser for Normal/Dry skin.

I also purchased the Vital Enlightening Highlighter Powder which was NOT planned but it looked so incredibly pretty in the pan, and after swatching it and seeing how well it blended it was promptly placed in my basket.

The try-me kits contain a 30ml sample of the cleanser and 10ml of each day cream.

Normal/Dry kit contains Cleansing Lotion, Day Cream and Night Cream.
Dry/Very Dry kit contains Cleansing Balm, Day Cream and Night Cream.
Normal/Oily kit contains Cleansing Water, Day Cream and Night Cream.
Here’s a little look at The Vital Enhancing Highlighter Powder:

Not the greatest swatch; a better one will follow in the full review.  To the right  it’s applied neat and to the left it’s worked into the skin more.

All of the above have already arrived in store at Boots.
