Apart from slightly hormonal skin, I think I’ve been fairly lucky with the aesthetic side of pregnancy impact as I’ve read some true horror stories and have thanked my lucky stars that they haven’t happened to me! However, the one rather weird and random problem I’ve had has been with my lashes, which have become a lot more sparse, poker straight and very difficult to do much with. Sadly, this means that any mascara reviews that I post are a bit unfair because literally nothing is making my lashes look normal at the moment, but I couldn’t not share this new innovation, the Bourjois Twist Up the Volume Mascara, so keep the above in mind!
Bourjois Twist Up the Volume Mascara is designed to be two mascaras in one with a simple twist of the lid to change the shape of the brush. In its original position, the brush head is long, elegant and typical of a lengthening mascara wand, whereas when you twist the brush, it shortens and becomes squat with tightly packed bristles. The former will add length and a bit of definition, whilst the latter will thicken and plump lashes, hence the “twist up the volume” reference. It’s a fabulous idea that has been delivered really effectively and does exactly what it says on the tin.
This is just another addition to Bourjois’ line of seriously cutting-edge products that are very much worth checking out, especially as Bourjois (along with Maybelline) make some of the best high-street mascaras available. This one is easy to use, offers options depending on what sort of “mascara mood” you’re in, the formula is lovely and glossy and, when this launches in October, it’ll be a rather bargaintastic £10.99. My crazy pregnancy lashes really don’t do this mascara justice, but for some great imagery, head on over to Gemma’s review here.

I don’t find the mascaras with changing brush tips make any difference. I find it very differ cult to get a mascara that impresses me as with light tiny lashes I need all the help possible!
