Steamcream Design a Tin Contest

I’m sure we’re all familiar with Steamcream – the little pot of cream that’s suitable for all over use and packed full of gorgeous goodies such as orange flower water and organic jojoba oil – so I won’t launch into a long introduction of the product.  What I will do is share with you my envy for all you artistic types who are capable of drawing and designing pretty things that please the eye and make both the product and the creator look wonderfully talented.  I cannot do that, sadly, and here’s a good example of the limit of my artistic ability:

Exactly.  I don’t know what I was going for either.  Once I’d had my wicked way with that poor, unassuming tin of Vaseline, not only was it left considerably uglier, it was also no longer functional as I managed to glue the whole thing together.  So you can see why I’m not going to try my hand at designing some fancy packaging for Steamcream.  However, if you’re a dab hand with a paintbrush, felt tip or watercolour (those are all things arty types use, right?) then this contest should be right up your street, as if you win, your design will be sold worldwide, have your name on it and get lots of publicity, which I kind of love the sound of as I just think it would be awesome to peruse the aisles of John Lewis and pointing out a product that I designed…and if you don’t believe me, it has my name on it!   To enter, you need to get involved with the Steamcream Facebook page by giving them a like here – link – then follow the instructions for the contest.  You’ve got until 28th October to enter, so get cracking and good luck!
