I am extremely grateful that this range didn’t launch during my pregnancy as I can say with certainty that you would’ve found me in a dark corner with both of these products and a spoon. Not good for a pregnant girl suffering from Pica! The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspberry products are absolutely glorious. The full range consists of a Body Scrub (£12.50), a Body Lotion (£8), a Body Butter (£13), a Shower Gel (£4) and an Eau De Toilette (£8.50). I was sent the Body Scrub and the Body Butter to try.
The reason the raspberries are harvested early is to allow the preservation of skin-boosting anti-oxidants so there’s plenty of goodness in these products and they’re not just prettily scented. Speaking of scent, the raspberry fragrance is bang on with all the sweetness you’d expect from a fresh raspberry aroma without any of the tartness. The result is a kind of raspberry yoghurt smell that is truly delicious.
As you’d expect from The Body Shop, both the scrub and the body butter are brilliantly effective at doing what they’re job, with the scrub leaving skin feeling smooth and polished, whilst the body butter leaves skin feeling nourished and soft. There’s just a hint of a raspberry scent left after the initial use, although there’s enough for people to comment! the butter obviously leaves more of a scent than the scrub, but it weakens after a few hours so if you don’t want it to interfere with your perfume then I recommend using it before bed.
The Body Shop Early-Harvest Raspberry collection launches on 15th April 2014 both instore and online – link. There are also some gorgeous new lippies launching soon, so keep your eyes peeled for my review of those soon!
