Here we have the very definition of extremely pretty beauty in the shape of Clinique’s latest blush launch, the Cheek Pop. Cutely named and cutely presented, it’s available in four complexion-flattering shades, and I have Plum Pop to show you today.
The Clinique Cheek Pops are housed in a clear, acrylic casing, and the blush itself is in the shape of a daisy. Normally with this sort of thing the shape will only be superficial and consequently disappear quite quickly, but this floral shape appears to go all the way to the base of the blusher, so in theory the shape should hold right until you use the blusher up, which I think is a really nice touch.
The Plum Pop shade is right at the top end of plum and definitely too pink to call it a true plum, but it’s also got that slightly blue-toned plum nuance to it that makes it too plum to call it a pink shade…was that confusing enough for you? Regardless, it’s a beautifully flattering shade that works especially well against my pale complexion.
It’s a very versatile blush which can create a sheer wash of colour (what I tend to go for) or built-up into a serious (cheek) pop of colour. It also blends like a dream and is possibly the most natural blush I’ve ever got my mitts on; it’s very good at making you look healthy and well rather than really good at applying blusher.
The other three shades in the Clinique Cheek Pop family are Ginger Pop, Berry Pop and Peach Pop and I’ve actually got my eye on Peach Pop, so don’t be surprised if you see that on the blog soon. This is currently my most-used blush (if you follow me on Instagram you’ll see it appear in my make-up posts) and I really rate it as a great, everyday kit addition, so definitely check it out of you’re a blush fan. It’s online and on counters now priced at £16.50 a pop…head here – link – for more info.
