In the heavily saturated beauty box world, it takes something quite special to get hearts a’fluttering again, but Memebox have done it and they’ve done it really, really well! If you’re unfamiliar, Memeboxes are themed boxes that you order as and when you fancy one. For example, you can decide you want several and order them all at once, or buy one here and there, or treat yourself regularly and the boxes provide extremely good value for money.
Each box is themed around a specific beauty idea, so for example the Oil Therapy box will be full of oil-based products and the Cleanse & Tone box will be products designed for cleansing and toning. You also get different takes on the theme such as the box I have to share with you today, which is the Earth & Sea Cosmetics box that contains products all either inspired or involving ingredients from the Earth & Sea. It’s a fab concept, the site is packed full of amazing themed boxes and I challenge you not to get excited about at least one of them!
What’s extremely appealing about Memeboxes is that really feel like you’re getting your moneys worth, as opening up this Earth & Sea box I’m presented with six full-sized products and I believe all Memboxes contain full-sized products, although don’t quote me! There were two masks included in the Memebox Special #31, the Volcanic Ash Pore Pack which is a more standard, charcoal mud mask and the Black Charcoal Mask which is a charcoal sheet mask – I’m quite excited about that as you don’t often get mud-style sheet masks, but I’m also aware of how messy they can get, so I’ll be treading carefully. The final product in the above picture is the one I’ve used most which is the Elastic Pore Cleansing Foam. This is a great example of the sort of thing that we just don’t get over here, and yet it fabulous! It’s a simple, quick night time treat for spotty skin types; it’s a thick black paste that you apply over the face, then slowly add water to massage it away. It’s grim – it contains something extracted from spiders and from pigs, lovely – but it’s a very good product that makes a noticeable difference after just one use, so this is staying in my regular use tray.
The Spa Water 24 hours Moisturising Refreshing Mist was the product I was most excited about when I opened the box, as I love a good facial spray and I love anything that adds moisture, but it has such a strong smell of perfume to it that I only used it the once before deciding it wasn’t for me. The Super Aqua Cooling Gel is pretty much as it sounds, a cool jelly that adds a hit of refreshing moisture; it’s a great one for younger skins or for adding a bit of additional moisture on dry days.
Last is the only make-up item which is the Mineral Air Fix Loose Powder. This looks to me to be a lot like the Pixi fixing powder which I love, but this one also contains a seriously high SPF of 27 which I haven’t seen in a powder before, so I’ll be adding this to my to-try list once I’ve used up my Pixi powder. As you can see, it’s an impressive box and tall this will set you back $29 plus $6.99 shipping, which works out as just under £23 all in. Memeboxes are varying prices depending on the box, but the Earth & Sea one can be seen here – link – whereas the rest of the boxes can be checked out here – link.

I love the Charcoal face mask. They are so good at getting out impurities.
