I love make-up brushes, and out of all the make-up brushes I love the face brushes the best, so put a set of good quality base brushes in front of me and I’m a happy girl. I’ve got quite a few Nanshy brushes in my everyday essentials collection, a lot of which came from the Masterful Collection (post here) which is a great starter set for anyone who wants to upgrade their current brush collection.
Nanshy brushes are completely Vegan whilst also being great quality and long-lasting. They come in a choice of handle colour (black or white, I always pick black though as I prefer the look) with sturdy chrome bristle casing, making them extremely practical and easy to work with. The Nanshy Gobsmack Glamorous Face set contains five brushes, each of which are designed to give your base a flawless finish.
The Angled Airbrush brush is the one I use the most out of the collection as it makes easy work of applying liquid foundation and getting it into all the nooks and crannies. It’s great for application and you can either buff, or layer product depending on what finish you’re after. I like to work product all over my face first, before layering it up with the angled edge on areas that need more coverage.
The Flawless Foundation is a good all-rounder for quick base application, especially for things like BB/CC creams and anything that isn’t too thick. I use this when I’m going for minimal make-up for things like shopping etc as it gives a good, even finish of light coverage.
The Conceal Perfector was the one I was most excited about, but unfortunately I’ve found it to shed quite a bit, although it’s worth noting that this is the first time I’ve come across this problem with a Nanshy brush so it might just be an off brush. It’s designed for slightly more precise application of foundation to give a heavier coverage, therefore making it great for covering larger areas and the nooks around the nose.
The Buffed Base is my favourite of the lot as it’s a handy tool for buffing everything together once you’ve finished applying. It’s also great for buffing down anything that looks too heavy or cakey, plus you can use it to reduce hard edges on foundation or even blusher and bronzer too. It’s a sturdy buffing brush that ensures you don’t have to spend half an hour buffing away to get the finish you want.
Last is the Blush & Bronze which I haven’t used much, but that’s mainly because I have my blush and colour favourites. It’s a dense brush with an angle, making it perfect for contouring with either blush or contour products. It’s also dense enough to work well with cream colour products, but be aware that as it’s so dense it’ll pick up a lot of product, so you’ll need to buff in the product afterwards.
The Nanshy Gobsmack Glamorous Face Makeup Brush Set is a great all-rounder kit for anyone who likes to perfect their base. It’s especially handy if you’re like me and need a lot of coverage, as you can never have too many tools to help with such tasks. As usual, it’s great value for the full five brushes costing £34.95 here – link.
