I really rate Schwarzkopf products as some of the very best, budget-friendly hair care you can find; they’re easily accessibly, sensibly marketed and you very rarely need to spend more than a fiver to get a decent product. The Essence Ultime range is especially handy for finding some extremely affordable shampoo and conditioner duos for your hair type – I particularly rate the Omega Repair range if your hair is in need of a bit of TLC, and I’ve added the Volume range to my list of products to try.
The Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Blonde & Bright range is a recently launched, shampoo and conditioner duo designed to keep blonde hair bright and radiant, as the name suggests. It contains various nourishing ingredients such as panthenol and keratin, but the lead brightening ingredient is citrus oil which, as we know, is a blonde hair brightener, so it sounds like a sensible formulation to me. I would use these products as a weekly booster rather than an everyday duo as I found it made my fine hair quite flyaway. Clearly they’re products designed to lift and clarify hair to ensure the colour looks it’s best, which will work for anyone who needs a bit of a volume, clarity or just a good cleanse.
I’m always trying to strike a balancing act between prioritising adding volume (products of which can strip colour) and maintaining colour (these products often weigh hair down) and whilst I haven’t found the perfect product here, I’ll definitely continue using them as a treatment to hopefully keep my highlights bright. I hope they add some styling products to the range too, as I’d love a colour maintenance serum or something along those lines. The Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Blonde & Bright Duo are £4.99 each and available now here – link.
