My weird relationship with facial sprays (quick recap – I don’t really love the feeling of spraying product on my face, yet both my AM and PM routines contain facial sprays and I spritz quite regularly throughout the day too. You see? Weird) continues with the arrival of the Bakel Hydramist, a unique product that I would lean towards describing as a supercharged serum in a spray. It’s an interesting product as it doesn’t deliver that feeling of a layered spray that you always get when you use a facial spritz – you know, as if you feel like if you were to check your reflection there’d be little droplets of condensation all over your face? – which will either be a plus or a minus depending on what you like from your spray.
This is my first introduction to the Bakel brand so I don’t know if this is the case over all the line, but one thing I really like is the breakdown of ingredients on the packaging and what each ingredient offers as a skincare benefit; in the Hydramist there are 16 ingredients, a mix of antioxidants and hydrators, all of which are there for a specific skincare purpose. The spray itself isn’t very wet, but it instead leaves skin feeling lightly hydrated, making it a particularly great product for use after acids. My skin absorbs this in a matter of seconds, so if you like very wet sprays then you might not get on with this, but if you’d prefer a facial spray to serve a purpose beyond superficial hydration then this is well worth a shot. The Bakel Hydramist is not cheap at £47 for 100ml, but a few sprays is all you need to feel the effect so hopefully it’ll prove to a bit of an investment piece rather than something you melt through in a week during the hotter months. It’s available at Space NK here – link.

Sprays are definitely growing on me. I don’t like the feeling of it either though! I guess I have noticed they are quite convenient at delivering a quick blast of ‘something’ and I do like the ones that disappear quickly and don’t hang around on the face, Bakel is a new brand to me so thank you for the review
If you don’t like any residue then Bakel is a fantastic choice! It’s weird with sprays isn’t it? I like the concept, but I find spraying cold liquid on my face quite unnerving!
I love La Roche Posay’s Serozinc, it’s very calming when I have a breakout. First time I’ve found a facial spray to actually do anything for me!
Serozinc is amazing! I’ve actually run out so I need to stock up 🙂
