Here we have a wonderful example of a beautifully executed collection of fragrances. The Michael Kors Gold Collection is a trio of fragrances, all housed in “gold-bar-style” packaging that are just so lovely to look at, they make you want to grab and spray – so I think it’s safe to say that if Michael Kors wanted to create a perfume that captivates the majority of the senses, the task has been accomplished!
The three fragrances are all gold-themed, as the name of the collection suggests, so you have White Luminous Gold, 24K Brilliant Gold and Rose Radiant Gold, all of which are glamour to look at with a fragrance to match. Aesthetically, my favourite is White Luminous Gold as I love the clean, silver finish. However, it’s my least favourite fragrance of the three, which is surprising really as it has jasmine at it’s heart and pear at the top, but the base note of amber is a little too overwhelming for me.
24K Brilliant Gold is the one that I think will be the most popular as it’s a very lovely scent, with floral and woody notes at the heart and base respectively, and a lovely burst of citrus mandarin at the top. I happily wear this one and think it’s especially suited to day wear, but my favourite of the trio is definitely Rose Radiant Gold, and not just because the packaging is pink! Rose Radiant Gold is definitely the sexiest of the three thanks to it’s spicy, musky notes that surround a floral heart. It’s a lovely, gently feminine scent that isn’t too in your face, but still packs a punch making it a great choice for night time, although I have been wearing it during the day. The gorgeous Michael Kors Gold Fragrance collection is out now, with each bottle available in three sizes starting at £39 here – link.
Whilst we’re on the subject of Michael Kors, if you happen to be in London over the next couple of days then I’d recommend heading to Debenhams, Oxford Street where you’ll find a Michael Kors beauty pop-up shop. There you’ll find all the fragrances and beauty collection, so you can sniff away to your heart’s content. I’m particularly keen to get my hands on the Glam Jasmine scent – could that sound anything more like my kind of fragrance? You’ve only got until this Saturday (19th September 2015) so if you’ve always wondered what the Michael Kors beauty collection is like, now’s your chance to see it all in person.

This is funny – I put glam jasmine on my want to try list today. Its hard to know which of the others here I would like -initially I thought Id like the luminous one too until you said amber and I recently smelt a perfume that was described as being jasmine, neroli and amber but it smelt completely different to what i expected. I think I like jasmin and orange blossom though. The second scent you described sounds like it might be nice but in my opinion you cant sometimes tell if you’ll like it just from reading the notes or description.
Shame I cant get to the event and dont live near London.
Aesthetically…not really my style, would prefer prettier bottles and they look a bit too similar to each other. But in the end its the scent that matters!
It’s so true; fragrance is such a personal thing and even though there are notes I definitely always like (like jasmine and vanilla) the inclusion of them in a scent doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be a winner for me – a good example of that is the Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee – I thought I would love that due to the lead notes being right up my street, but it wasn’t for me.
I actually really love the way the bottles look as I think they really stand out among my other perfume bottles 🙂
