Last year, Lancôme released a collection which could not have been more up my street: the Lancôme L’Absolu Rôses is a collection of extension shades for their L’Absolu Gloss range that’s all about the pink lip; as someone who absolutely loves a pink lip, you can imagine my excitement when these beauties arrived.
The extension shades four new L’Absolu Gloss Cream shades, (Caprice 132, Nuit et Jour 202, Rose Caresse 319 and Graffiti 382), four new L’Absolu Gloss Sheer shades (Pourquoi Pas 317, Beige Muse 222, Surles Toits 351 and Premier Baiser 383) and finally the four new L’Absolu Gloss Matte shades (Rose Lancôme 378, Beaux Art 356, Avec Style 321 and Entracte 181).
The three shades I have are Rose Caresse from the L’Absolu Gloss Cream range and two from the L’Absolu Gloss Matte shades, Avec Style and Rose Lancôme. The formula for all three is comfortable to wear, with extra credit given to the L’Absolu Gloss Matte formula which is one of my favourite matte formulas to date – it doesn’t feel dry on the lips and provides a really clean and even finish.
L’Absolu Gloss Cream in Rose Caresse is a beautiful, pretty, feminine pink that’s very flattering and can be worn with pretty much any make-up look; it’s great for low-key, everyday natural looks, but also works really well to finish off a smoky eye. I love everything about this; the colour, the formula, the finish and the beautiful packaging. It’s £21 here – link.
The first of the L’Absolu Gloss Matte, Avec Style, is another great shade that adds a pop of colour, but it’s still muted enough for every day wear – I love the fact that you can go a little bit stronger with a matte finish and it still looks tidy and polished. Avec Style is a mid-toned pink that, much like Rose Caresse above, is versatile enough to work with a number of looks. It’s £21 here – link.
The second L’Absolu Gloss Matte shade is the showstopping Rose Lancôme, a bright and brilliant magenta that works so well as a matte formula. This is the sort of shade that should take centre stage (in my humble opinion) and looks really good with a simple eye, a tidy brow and clean skin. Of course, the joy of make-up is that there are no rules, so wear it however you like! It’s £21 here – link.
The Lancôme L’Absolu Rôses are a lovely way to find your perfect pink lip, in both formula and colour, and I love that there are so many options to take away a lot of the guess work. They’re such pretty products in every sense, making them a great indulgence for anyone who loves a pink lip. Check out the full Lancôme L’Absolu Gloss range here – link.
