At first (I was afraid…) I was unsure what to make of the Glossybox x Living Proof collaboration, as hair products are so incredibly personal – make-up you can kind of make work, even if it’s not the norm for you, and most skincare you can find a use for, one way or another, but hair products are very specific: most people know what they like and stick with it, so a box of hair care goodies aimed at hair repair is only going to appeal to a certain demographic. Then I realised that the whole box is in fact being marketed as an answer to a “Hairmergency” which makes a lot more sense! This is an edit for anyone who’s overdone the styling/beach/sun/swimming and needs help repairing and reconditioning their stressed-out locks.
The Glossybox x Living Proof Limited Edition Box is actually a very good collection of products that’ll make a great introduction to the Living Proof brand, if you haven’t tried them previously – I have and can heartily recommend, especially the Full range which is awesome for flat hair! In this special edition box you get five products in total, two of which are full-sized, whilst the remaining three are deluxe sample sizes.
The first full-sized product is the Restore Hair Mask, which is a quickie five minute treatment that promises to give hair an extra nourishing boost. This is the product I’m holding onto as I’m doing lots of styling at the moment which is putting my hair through it! This is worth £37.
The second full-sized product is the Restore Repair Leave-In which is a leave-in conditioner and hair strengthener that promises to make your hair 15 times stronger, so great for hair that’s especially frazzled and would benefit from more than a wash-off deep conditioner. This is worth £26.
The Restore Shampoo and Restore Conditioner work together to maintain the benefits of the more intensive Restore products above. These are both 30ml in size, which in fairness isn’t too bad for a mini and will definitely give you a good few chances to trial the products (and great for travel!) and each mini is worth £5.
The final product in the Glossybox x Living Proof Limited Edition Box is the TBD Multi-Tasking Styler, which I initially assumed wouldn’t be suitable for my hair, but it sounds like a handy product for taming flyaways and adding a touch of control – I have been putting my hair in plaits recently and there’s this bit underneath that always get a bit too frizzy, so I’ll give this a go and hopefully it’ll help! It’s also worth £5.
The Glossybox x Living Proof Limited Edition Box launches on the 11th June 2019 at 1pm and is expected to sellout super fast (the Glossybox specials usually do) so move quickly if you fancy getting in on the action. The price will be £20 for subscribers and £25 for non-subscribers.
