Axis-Y are a fabulous line of K-Beauty skincare, with a large focus on products that hydrate, soothe and heal, making them a perfect choice for those of us who suffer with tricky skin types, such a adult acne, rosacea and any kind of sensitivities and inflammation. I was kindly sent a few bits to try, so here’s a closer look at:
The Aqua Boost Essence Toner ($18 here – link) is as juicy and soothing as it sounds, providing a formula that’s a little thicker than a toner but less than a serum, it can be used as both a toner and an essence and I’ve used it as both. This works really well as an additional hydrating step in any kind of skincare routine, it sinks in quickly and plays well with other skincare.
The Advanced Aqua Boosting Ampoule ($18 here – link) is a light, gentle, hydrating serum that I think would be a particularly great fit for skin that’s prone to breakouts as this sinks in so quickly and works to hydrate and sooth. This is a really good example of just how well designed K-Beauty products are, to ensure they can feature in multi-step routines without causing build-up or piling.
The Heartleaf My Type Calming Cream ($20 here – link) is my favourite out of the four products as it’s such a lightweight formula yet it’s so soothing and hydrating! This is a great choice for after acids as it’ll counter any reaction, but I also would really recommend it for oilier skin types who want to add a hydrator to their routine but don’t want anything that feels too dense.
Finally, the Complete No Stress Physical Sunscreen ($23 here – link) was the product I was most excited to try as it’s a nice and high SPF50, plus it contains Squalane and Mugwort, so it’s so much more than just a sunscreen. Unfortunately for me, it also contains Niacinamide, which is a great ingredient for most skin types, but my skin reacts very negatively to Niacinamide so I wasn’t able to try it – gutted as it’s so silky in texture!
