Remington are speedily becoming my go-to brand for hair styling tools as they continually deliver on great, high-performance and easy to use products which are usually relatively affordable. The Remington Silk Heated Rollers are a set of 20 rollers (8 medium and 12 large) that come with their own individual clip that heats alongside the rollers themselves. The box that heats them is cumbersome and tricky to store, so this isn’t an ideal set for those short of room. However, it is a great and easy kit that takes the usual faff out of heated roller kits.
The rollers are ceramic with a soft foam outer edge. They’re extremely easy to use as you literally just roll them in from tip to root and fasten the clip over them – obviously you need to tread carefully with both the roller and the clip as they both get pretty hot! The rollers heat up extremely quickly in a couple of minutes and they only take five minutes to set the curl, so technically by the time you’ve put the final roller in you should be able to start taking the first ones out, although I left them a bit longer just to allow them to set – I’m not sure how accurate the five minute setting claim is as the front rollers were still relatively warm after ten minutes, so I can’t say for sure.
I really like the fact that there are 20 decent sized rollers included as it means my whole head of hair gets in on the action in one sitting. A lot of the time I have to either just leave some of my hair straight or muck about repeating the whole process until my whole head is covered which is very annoying – I have fine hair but there’s a lot of it so it’s great that this set allows for full head coverage.
You can use the rollers in various different ways – such as volume boosting and various levels of curl – and for the look above I rolled them under and tucked them in so I didn’t go all the way to the root; the result is a Hollywood style wave that stayed in all day on product-free hair. If you have the room and you like easy curls then the Remington Silk Heated Rollers are a great choice at £59.99 here – link.
