There are some wonderful new additions to the L’Occitane range of face products that are all designed to perfect skin, and the way I see them is that they kind of gently enhance to give skin a little bit more radiance, a little more glow and just a general ‘bonne mine’ finish to the skin. Consequently, the range is suited to everyone and I don’t think there will be any skin types who should exclude themselves, but obviously overly sensitive or heavily spot-prone types will want to tread carefully. There are five new products in the Pivoine Sublime range, a Skin Perfector, a Perfecting Cream, a Skin Tone Perfecting Cream, a Perfecting Mist and four new lip balms, three of which are tinted. I have the Skin Tone perfecting Cream, the Perfecting Mist and a couple of the lipbalms.
The Perfecting Mist is one of those lovely, easy mists that gives a fine spray of hydrating and gently scented toner which works to either hydrate during your skin tone routine, or refresh make-up throughout the day. If you like the idea of a hydrating mist without the overpowering smell then this is a really good choice in a light and travel-friendly bottle. It’s £14 here – link. The Skin Tone Perfecting Cream is actually a CC cream available in either light or medium. It’s one of those creams that comes out white and then turns a skin colour and it’s quite a sheeny product with an SPF20. It’s a lovely and hydrating product that works well either on its own for low coverage days, or under make-up as a perfecting primer, however, the only thing I don’t like about it is the strong scent, as the concept of applying heavily perfume products to my face doesn’t sit well with me. Having said that, I haven’t had any issues with it and it really does give skin a great glow. It’s £25 here – link.
Can you beat a L’Occitane lip balm? I’m not sure you can; balms seem to be one of the many things they do amazingly well, and certainly their Ultra Soft Balm is still one of my everyday staples (great for blocking self-tan on dry bits, but I digress) so it’s safe to say that the Pivoine Sublime lip balms are beautiful – comfortable, comforting, pretty to look at and lovely to use. The lids twist on and off which I really like as it makes them a lot more secure for travel. Alongside the clear version there are three shades; Rose Nude (want!), Rose Plum (pictures above with the Transparent shade) and Rose Amber, although for some reason I can only find Rose Amber and Transparent on the site, which are £12 each. There is, however, a lovely little trio set for £32 here – link.

Hi Sascha
The lip balms look great – right up my street. Please can you tell me if the SPF25 is broad spectrum?

That’s a very good point Alex, I’m not too sure! It doesn’t specify on either the site or the balm itself unfortunately xx
