Strangely enough, I didn’t make a proper start on the 2014 version of the Boots No7 Ultimate Eye Palette until a few months ago as I stored it for later use…then forgot all about it. It’s actually a fantastic palette that looks pretty enticing in its packaging, but once used, you quickly realise just how handy it is – it’s packed full of nudes and neutrals in shimmers, glitters and mattes, all of which work together to provide an impressive variety of looks. When I first saw the 2015 version of the Ultimate Eye Palette, I thought it was the same shade collection in a slightly different arrangement (based on a quick scan of the press images) but as you can see, even though there are definitely some crossover shades, it’s actually quite different and a lot cooler than the 2014 version, so I really hope this is a start of a tradition as these make for practical, enjoyable and fun annual palettes.
The Boots No7 Ultimate Eye Palette 2015 is a little more adventurous than the 2014 palette, although it’s still packed full of 20 very wearable shades. There appear to be a few more lighter shades than the previous selection, but there’s also some great takes on lilac, plum, slate, grey and khaki with a very good balance of finishes. I’m mostly drawn to the matte shades – my matte phase is still going strong – but I do like the khaki and purple shades too. There are quite a few takes on paler, nude shades that work great for a bit of lift with a slick of liner for an easy daytime look. The pigmentation and colour payoff is very good, with the darker shades working particularly well as liners without the need to keep going over the line to build it up. All-in-all, another great palette from the No7 brand that performs as well as it looks and is very well priced at £20. It’s here – link – but annoyingly it’s currently out of stock, however, if I remember correctly last year, there were quite a few in store in the Boxing Day sales at half price, so if you can hang on until then, I’d recommend doing so, but if not then hopefully you can find some in store now.
