At the weekend I was having a brief Twitter chat about what I like in a hand cream. For me, I like a good, overnight treatment cream that’s rich, thick and deeply hydrating, something that feels as if it’s going to carry on doing good work once I go to sleep, rather than just absorb and disappear within minutes of applying. If you like a similar sort of thing, you’ll definitely like the new Elemis British Botanical Hand & Nail Butter, which is a fantastically rich hand cream that’s an extension of the popular British Botanical line.
The Amanda Ross designed pattern on the tube is chic and sophisticated and the tube itself comes with a screw top lid, which is a little fiddly when you have cream on your hands, but not a major issue. The fragrance is a lovely, potent floral that’s definitely lavender-heavy, but proper lavender, not the sickly stuff that’s often featured in lavender-led fragrances. The fragrance is strong when applied, but by the morning it’s completely gone, so it won’t interfere with other fragrances.
The cream itself is absolutely gorgeous – thick and rich and just so hydrating, that it leaves skin feeling really soft an nourished. I have dry patches on my knuckles that I really struggle with and this completely removed them by the morning, it was pretty impressive! This is a really hard-working product that’s ideal for anyone with very dry hands, those who work with their hands and those who wash their hands a lot, as this will replace any loss moisture and leave hands feeling and looking soft, smooth and taken care of. The Elemis British Botanical Hand & Nail Butter is £18 for 100ml which is a really good price for a decent sized product and you can find it here – link – however, I’ve just seen the British Botanics Trio contains a full-sized tube of this, alongside 100ml of the matching shower cream and 50ml of the matching body cream for £24, so for just £6 more you’re getting quite a bit extra! The trio can be found here – link.
