A couple of weeks ago I attended an appointment at Charles Worthington (more on that soon) and beforehand I was given some new L’Oreal goodies, which included the L’Oreal Professional Serie Expert Inforcer Vitamin B6+ Biotin range, a trio of products designed to strengthen hair, repair damage and most importantly, prevent any further damage. Generally speaking, ranges like this are incredibly rich, hydrating and likely to weigh hair down – basically the sort of products not really aimed at hair like mine that’s in pretty decent condition, fine and flyaway, so I wasn’t optimistic that this would be a range I’d get on with, but I was pleasantly surprised.
First up, let’s give a special mention to the packaging which is pretty and easy to use, whilst still maintaining that luxe haircare vibe. The shampoo is pink and sparkly and works into a good lather that rinses out easily. I know we’re not supposed to like a shampoo that lathers well but as someone who is prone to greasy roots, I always favour one that feels like it’s getting my hair to a really clean finish. This feels lovely, rich and creamy on the hair, which thoroughly cleanses hair without leaving it feeling stripped of moisture – it’s a great, balancing shampoo which retails for £12. Next up is the matching conditioner, which follows the shampoo really well as it’s light but hydrating and I find that leaving it on for a couple of minutes results in my hair feeling as if it’s absorbed it – it feels quite rich on application but a few minutes later, hair doesn’t feel likes it’s been coated in anything dense or buttery, and instead just feels like it’s been conditioned. It’s also really easy to rinse out and hair feels noticeably smoother during the rinsing process. It retails for £13.
The final product, the masque, is kind of an add-on that I think you’d only really need if you’re struggling to tame unruly, broken, damaged hair as the duo above do really well at correcting issues and fortifying hair that isn’t overly damaged or dry. Having said that, this is a great mask for using after colour treatments or if you’ve been a bit neglectful of hair care and none of the products have caused my hair to feel greasy, weighed-down or overwhelmed. The mask is £16. This is a lovely range for anyone who would like hair to feel and look stronger and healthier and I think pretty much any hair type would benefit from using these, either as a weekly treatment if your hair is in pretty good nick, or more regularly if you need additional help. My hair is in especially good condition at the mo thanks to having a Smartbond treatment recently (more on that later too!) but I still like using these products as they give hair a noticeable shine and leave hair feeling just soft enough without going overboard. You can pick these up at your local L’Oreal salon, which you can find here – link.
